    I advocate moving down if you think you can get a player of roughly the same value for less. If you're pretty sure nobody in the next however many picks is going to take the guy who is ranked highest on your draft board, you can move down, save some money on his contract, and get the extra pick as a bonus. For example, if after Davis, Huff, and Ngata go, you decide you don't see anyone who stands out much over the other top options at that point, that's where I would consider trading down. Conversely, I don't trade up unless I see a guy who is clearly above the other players likely to be available when I pick. And I do think Hawk qualifies.
