i cant believe shazor wasnt drafted, as highly as nick touted him. I believe nick said he like him better than the guy we took, asherbashwanie.

Sign adam bergen, tight end, lehigh. I dont know if he can play, but i bet he can understand the playbook.

This is why I don't have a job in the NFL.

Shazor was ranked as one of the best SS prospects, but his poor 40-time seemingly blacklisted him, because teams feel he's too slow to play as a defensive back, and would only make an average outside linebacker. I don't see how it could hurt to sign the guy as an UFA though, because at the very least, he could be a good ST guy.

Nick, isnt brandon browner another guy you had somewhere towards the bottom of your top 100 (cb). By the way nick, if you decide you want to work in a personnel department with an nfl team when you get out of school, there is no doubt in my mind that you are a) smart enough, b) motivated enough and c) knowledgeable enough about football to get one. No limits on what you can accomplish my friend. If theodore epstein can end the curse at age 28, no reason you cant work for charley and martz and lead the squad in the draft room in a few years. You are certainly better looking than mel kipper jr anyway.

Word has it the Rams have signed undrafted free agent Dominique Thompson (WR).

Thanks for the kind words, GC. Yes, I thought Browner would make a good second or third round DB option, probably as a safety conversion. He dropped off the board completely. Wouldn't be surprised to see him gobbled up as an UFA here soon.

I'm shocked that James Butler was not drafted. I guess the teams have access to information that we don't. Go figure.

Re: UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS - Who do you want?

There are 6 UFA I'd like to see the Rams give a shot to:
    OL Mike Munoz - Ten
    LB Matt Sinclair - ILL
CB Brandon Browner - OR. St
    SS Ernest Shazor - MICH
    C Ben Wilkerson LSU
    WR/RS Lance Moore - Toledo

Re: UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS - Who do you want?

Here's a list of players I wouldn't mind seeing brought in:

Kay Jay Harris - RB (Good change of pace back for Steven Jackson)

    Jamaica Rector - WR/KR/PR (Runs a 4.46 40)

Michael Munoz - OT (Was ranked as one of the top OT's going into 2004, blood's gotta count for something too right?)

George Gause - DE (Nasty run stuffing DE, big)

Jonathan Pollard - ILB (Strong, good hitter, could contribute on special teams)

Zac Woodfin - OLB (Productive in college, lacks measurables but has that 'non-stop' motor that everyone seems to like, could contribute on special teams)

Ernest Shazor - SS/LB (I question whether we have two guys on the roster who can play effectively if Archuleta can't. Somebody's gotta take a chance here right?)

James Butler - FS (Good character guy, good in pass coverage and run support. I have no idea why he wasn't drafted...)

Jamaal Brimmer - SS (Was ranked the best safety in college football according to some experts last year. Worth a shot IMO.)

    doubt big names

I doubt the rams will sign any of the big name UFA's. There will be too much competition from teams with less talent than the Rams. I look for them to sign less known but promising UFA and not a lot of them as they already had a ton of draft picks to deal with. I would guess one or two camp RB's, same for WR's, a DE they hope sticks, and two db's.
