UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
The Washington Redskins released veteran running back Willie Parker on Saturday, according to the Washington Post, citing a league source.
Parker rushed 16 times for 50 yards in four preseason games with the team, often lost in a crowded Redskins backfield that included veterans Larry Johnson and Clinton Portis.
Parker, 29, played six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning two Super Bowl rings. He has three 1,200-yard seasons, but he ran for just 389 yards last year as a backup.
"It's only one ball," Parker told the Post earlier this summer. "So therefore, you know [there] probably cant be enough room for all of us. That's the game. That's the way it is. Therefore, you got to go out and compete. ... There ain't even enough balls in practice."
Should we pounce? This could be a good addition. Also WR Matt Jones is free although I wouldn't look into that.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
I think he would be a great acquisition. I hope we make a move to get him.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
Cowboys are shopping Choice and I believe Lamant Jordan was just cut. A lot of options.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
This guy would be a great pick up. I really hope the Rams pounce on this guy. They need to jump on someone here soon damn it!:|

Much rather have Choice ... just sayin'.

Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
Marion Barber, also.
We REALLY need to pounce on TJ Houshmandzedah after the Squawks cut him today.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
I like the fact there are a lot of backup RB choices, but with the loss of Avery leaves the WR position as a more pressing priority.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
I also like choice as the better option.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
Parker became useless once he lost his speed, big no thanks to him. Give up a pick to get Choice much more upside there especially with Jackson on the backside of his career.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
How exactly is jackson on the "backside of his career"?
Ramming speed to all
general counsel

He's 27, running backs usually run into a brick wall at 30. We'd be fortunate to get 2 more Pro Bowl caliber seasons out of him. By the time Bradford becomes an elite QB, Jackson will be pretty much useless as a feature back.
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
actually I dont have a stat but the majority of great backs I think of primed at 30 and 32 is the brick.. but they can last longer if they have help.. So Choice.. parker is just over.. that injury got em
Re: UPDATE: WILLIE PARKER free
Choice has a much higher ceiling than parker at this stage of the game, not sure if you guys have seen Willie play this offseason you'd know why he was cut.

Well it's paramount that Jackson gets some help particularly youthful help, pretty much every team in the NFL has 2 useful backs, the Rams don't right now.
