*UPDATED* AR Rams Draft Board (3/15/06)
With free agents coming and going, its time for an update. The need ratings, in particular, have been adjusted. I've also added a new variable called "dropoff factor."
Prospect Ranking
5.0 – Blue Chip Prospect. Certain High First Rounder
4.0 – Solid First Rounder, but could go late in first round.
3.0 – Marginal First Rounder, could last until second round.
2.0 – Day 1 Selection, but not a first rounder.
1.0 – Mid-to late round selection.
Need Ranking
5.0 – Immediate need. Expected to start as rookie.
4.0 – Priority need. Expected to play/compete for starting spot as rookie.
3.0 – Non-priority need. Could play/start, but not a high priority.
2.0 – Depth selection. Solid starter already in place.
1.0 – No basis to select. Waste of first round selection.
QB: 1.0
RB: 1.5
WR: 1.0
TE: 3.0
OT: 2.0
OG: 3.0
C: 3.0
DE: 4.5
DT: 4.0
OLB: 5.0
MLB: 3.0
CB: 4.0
S: 4.5
Dropoff Factor (How the overall quality of prospects at the position compares from the first to the second round)
+.50 - Big dropoff at position in Round 2
Even - Moderate dropoff at position in Round 2
-.50 - Minimal dropoff at position in Round 2
If two players have the same combined score, I rank them based upon my subjective preference.
Player: Total Score (Prospect Ranking/Need Ranking/Dropoff Factor)
1. A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio State: 10.0 (5.0/5.0/E)
2. Mario Williams, DE, NC State: 10.0 (5.0/4.5/+.50)
3. Michael Huff, S, Texas: 9.5 (5.0/4.5/E)
4. Chad Greenway, OLB, Iowa: 9.0 (4.0/5.0/E)
5. Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon: 8.5 (4.5/4.0/E)
6. Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State: 8.5 (3.5/4.5/+.50)
7. Jimmy Williams, CB, VaTech: 8.0 (4.5/4.0/-.50)
8. DeMeco Ryans, OLB, Alabama: 8.0 (3.5/4.5/E)
9. Vernon Davis, TE, Georgia 7.5 (5.0/3.0/-.50)
10. Brodrick Bunkley, DT, FSU 7.5 (3.5/4.0/E)
11. Tye Hill, CB Clemson 7.5 (4.0/4.0/-.50)
12. Ko Simpson, S, South Carolina 7.5 (3.0/4.5/E)
New to list: Haloti Ngata, Tamba Hali, Brodrick Bunkley, Ko Simpson
Dropped from list: Thomas Howard, Abdul Hodge, Mathias Kiwanuka, Daniel Bullocks

Where's Manny Lawson at DE or even OLB?

Not on my board. He's a 3-4 tweener, and not what the Rams need, in my opinion. Not at pick 11 anyway.

Tamba Hali is a big riser because I think he could help the Rams' run defense from the DE spot, while providing some pass rushing. I think he would be great as one of the DEs in the 3-4 sets, with Hargrove on the other side and LL dropping back to the OLB spot in those situations.

Re: *UPDATED* AR Rams Draft Board (3/15/06)
My only hopes are that the Rams fill a gaping need and that the player picked will be a future Pro-Bowler. That would be a nice change from recent Rams' drafts, and I don't believe asking too much with a #11pick. Come on Rams FO, let's do it!

Are you serious the rams could definetly use this guy. Yes his a tweener which makes him even more valued because we could be using a 3-4 sometime soon
