Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
Scott Wright has posted an updated 3 round mock draft at his Draft Countdown web site. Rams picks as follows:
Round 1: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
Round 2: Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State
Round 3: Jason Phillips, ILB, T.C.U.
Looks like he has hit three pretty big areas of need for us. Thoughts?

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
I would be extremely happy if it went this way......followed by a CB and NT in the next two rounds.

It's good. The only problem is that I'm quite undecided on Phillips. I know the guy is a hard-working player with good character, but I would rather get Jaspar Brinkley. However, if Phillips is available in the fourth, I wouldn't mind grabbing him there.

I don't like Robiskie so much as a 2nd. I would prefer Nicks if he were there. Phillips I like, but it worries me that we may not get him and he is one of the top ILB's IMO.

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
I don't like going offense back-to-back with the first two picks. Since we are going to go with offense with our first pick, I firmly believe that we need to address the defense in round 2. Wright's mock is definitely challenging in that a lot of players we've been hoping for are all gone by the time we choose in the second round; namely, Laurinitis, Hood, M. Johnson, and even Loadholt.
Having said all of that I still would not take B. Robiskie at #35 in the second round. If we really want him that much then we must trade down and take him at a more valuable spot. I would take Clint Sintim at that point if his mock comes to pass.
And instead of J. Phillips who is actually a little smaller than the player he is to replace, Mr. Spoon himself, I would select either the D-tackle Sen'Derrick Marks of Auburn or the wideout J. Iglesias of OU.
Therefore our first three rounds would look like:
1.) Smith/Monroe
2.) Sintim
3.) Marks (or Iglesias)

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
I'd rather the rams pick up a MLB with the 2nd round pick. I still don't see the Lions picking Laurinitis at 33 since they traded for Julian Pieterson. So i'm hoping the picks can grab him at 35.
Can Sintim play Mike?

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
Love it. I'm hoping we get a new WR in round two. We'd have such a young crop of WR's out there.
I don't mind the Smith pick. I'd prefer Monroe though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
Kipper has nicks as a falling guy based on recent weight gain and says that Britt has attitude issues. Robiskie is fine, but i would much rather have the Son of the Animal if i was taking a buckeye in round 2.

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
I would also go OT and then WR in the draft.
BUt after I dont think we should take a MLB in the 3rd because we are really getting no value there. Billy D said we are going to get bigger more physical and Jason Phillips does not fit that. Well he does fit the physical part but not the big part. the guy is under 6-1 and does not even wiegh 240. SO i think we should go a different route in the 3rd and go Appleby or Brinkley (preferably appleby) in the 4th.

I'm thinking that if we grab Sintim, he's going to play SLB for us. SLB is also a hole we need to fill, and we could pick up a MLB later, like Frantz Joseph, or maybe Appleby if he drops a bit.

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
Precisely what I was thinking. Plus Sintim is a beast on the blitz and could help our pass rush out tremendously.
Heh, just thought of this: If we take Monroe and then Sintim we'll have gone Virginia with out first two picks, and 3 of our last 4 top two picks if we include last year and Chris Long!!
Gotta love the draft!!

Re: Updated Scott Wright Mock Draft (4/14)
The more I think about it, the less I like taking a WR. I still think Barden is the way to go if we take that route, but I think there are areas of bigger concern or more depth anyway.
I think some veteran depth at WR is more important.
