The debate about Gholston was whether or not he was a down 4-3 lineman or a stand-up 3-4 OLB. The Jets drafted him to be the latter, and he's been struggling with that transformation. If he can absorb and learn that new position, he has all the physical tools to be a monster pass rusher.
The same could be said for Long, lets face it, it's a huge leap from college to the NFL and few players make an immediate impact especially at a "non-skilled" position. Give these guys time to learn and we'll see them in the pro bowl in a few years.Quote:

As I said 3 weeks ago, Gholston & Long may be the next coming of Taylor and Greene........but it ain't gonna happen this year. Both these guys are making position changes and (most importantly) level changes. It's tough enough for a rookie to make that jump, but both are now having to figure out how to play in space (Long to the outside, and Gholston in a 2-point).
Give 'em time; I bet both will be pretty decent players.
