Re: Video of Chris Long's Gator Bowl Performance

Some things I noticed when watching this video: he really moves well laterally down the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the ball carrier. I was impressed at how well he rushed the passer from a standing position, though I'm still not convinced he has the quickness and coverage skills to be an outside linebacker in the 3-4 as some have suggested. I did like the agility he showed in some of those inside moves to the passer, though. He demonstrated good enough speed from the edge, but also was able to shift and move back inside when he saw an opening.

im not the only one who thinks so. i too agree that he isnt quick enough to be an outside line backer. however his work at the line makes up for it all. if he were to be drafted by any team, he'll be put in as DE instead of OLB.

i like his skills. hes a monster, he's a great player. he'll be a great pick up if the rams get him.

btw, thanks for the video, i really enjoyed watching it.

It looked to me like he was a bit slower than the guy next to him coming out of his stance (low). It may not mean anything considering his performance though. Perhaps he's spying the back field and reading the play.

    Thoughts?
