Re: Vikings waived Moss
Devaney needs to at least make some kind of offer. The Rams have a good shot at playoffs because they have a fairly easy schedule and a promising rookie QB who is doing a lot of things people didn't expect him to do this early in his career. Moss might have some intrigue to join the Rams

Re: Vikings waived Moss
Can he still catch the rock? yes
Can he still draw attention and stretch the field? yes
Is he still relatively fit and durable at this stage of his career? yes
Do the Rams desperately need a WR with just a fraction of his physical presence? yes
But a boy scout he is definately not. And we know how Spags and Devaney value boy scouts, so don't hold your breath.

The Vikings did it to themselves.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
We have the worst WR core in the league. Sam Bradford could use a real weapon at wideout.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
We are somewhere in the middle of the pack when it comes to the waiver order and I'm not sure if we would have to pay all of 6 million dollar salary half way through the season. He wasn't as productive in Minny, but he still drew consistent double teams. Rams do need a receiver Moss would get the by to get some of the system in. IMO it would be an upset if the Rams didn't win the NFC West this guy on the team he makes that much on an impact.
On another note what in the world is wrong with the vikings they are just all over the place the leadership is doing an absolutely horrid job its looks worse than having Shaw Ziggy, and, Linny at the helm. They go grovel for Gramps who doesn't even have an ankle anymore and his foot connects straight to his femur sign moss for a third round pick and waive him 4 weeks later. It was superbowl or bust this season, but its just looking like bust

Re: Vikings waived Moss
The trouble's we've had with WR's throughout the regular season and preseason, he could only help us in my opinion.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
The only negative I can think of is if Sam developes blinders and only looks at Moss and forces the ball to him. I think Sam is mature enough to not do this however. Also I wouldn't want Moss behaving like Steve Smith did yesterday, demanding Matt Moore throw him the ball. That said, I think if Randy would accept his role as a part of the offense- not the whole offesne, he could be a key piece to a playoff run. Best part is, if we sign him today or tomorrow, he would have two weeks to get adjusted to our offense. But its not hard to understand "Randy go deep"

Re: Vikings waived Moss
Whats waive mean? Are they releasing him? If so, pounce immediately on him. We are in desperate need of somebody who can stretch the field... Also he grabs double teams, will put less pressure on Jackson and imagine what Bradford would be capable of.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
According to the NFL website the Vikings will be paying his entire salary for the rest of the year. Basically, short of a new contract, he's free.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
For you guys talking about the Pillars. TO was less than 24 hours from signing here. I watch his show Steven Jackson had a guest appearance they discussed everything he almost signed here then the Bengals finally came through. I'm pretty sure he is having a pretty good year so it probably would have been a good call. IMO Moss better player has more impact on the game draws constant double teams even when he isn't giving full effort IMO and alot experts still the best deep threat the game has ever seen.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
Since he is on waivers teams with the worst record can put a claim in first and his contact would have to be paid the pro-rated remainder.

Re: Vikings waived Moss
I honestly think New England might take him back. Would he even want to play with us? He's getting kind of old and i'm sure he's not down for the whole "rebuilding process". He wants to win NOW. I would be more than happy to take him though.
