We're in on the Jason Brown Sweepstakes!
Via the national football post............
The National Football Post has learned that the St. Louis Rams could join the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs as potential suitors for center Jason Brown when free agency opens at midnight eastern tonight. It’s possible the Rams could be leaders in the Brown sweepstakes, according to sources.
Brown, a four year veteran from North Carolina, has spent his entire career with the Ravens.
Albert Breer of SportingNews.com reported earlier today that the ravens informed brown he is not in their plans for next season.

Re: We're in on the Jason Brown Sweepstakes!
If we get Brown then we would have a good interior offensive line all of a sudden. If we go for Curry in the first round, we could get Loadholt or any other offensive lineman in the second round. That would be a good offensive line.

Or...this could open up the door further to Michael Crabtree, and then draft Loadholt or someone in Rd 2. Curry is an OLB, we need an MLB. Why take a risk at moving a player who hasn't played MLB in a game situation ever? We are not the Giants, Steelers, etc. We have been a terrible team over the last few years, and can't afford to take risks that those teams can. We need to take players who we know can excell and who actually play the posistion that we want them to.

Not in their plans? The kid is a solid player.......how is he not "in their plans". That's like the Rams saying Bartell isn't in their plans.Albert Breer of SportingNews.com reported earlier today that the ravens informed brown he is not in their plans for next season."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

I hear you HUb but that kind of concerns me. If he is that good, and O lineman are at a premium in the league, why isn't he in the Ravens plans?

This certainly is a weird decision, especially playing in the AFC North, and playing the Steelers and Browns twice a year.

I'm gonna have to say it's all about the benjamins, or whoever is on the million dollar bill
For some reason they have put themselves into a position where a lot of their key playmakers are up for free agency. Still have to wonder why they would let a big bruisin center that can handle nose guards go when they play some of the best in the league twice a year. Interesting...

I think the Ravens' decision to move on from Brown is because they know he's probably going to cost a lot, and they're trying to focus on Scott and Lewis right now.

The Ravens can Draft the Best Center to come out in a long time in A. Mack. The Ravens might think it is easier to take Mack or E. Wood than pay Brown all that money. Mack and Wood could even have a better NFL career or prospect.
