I have no interest in drafting a guy with the #13 pick and having him switch positions. The draft is enough of a crapshoot without getting into the position conversion issues. Just my opinion, i am not saying it cant work, but from my point of view it adds risk.

Draft him to play DE. That's where he played in college, and he is certainly athletic enough to do so at the next level.
I wouldn't be upset with the pick because he can play anywhere on the line and his flexibilty will allow him to see the field sooner than most rookies. Maybe he can develop into a Richard Seymore type...one can only hope.
if we were to move to a 3-4 base D next year id say Carriker would be a great pick for us as i think he would be best suited to playing one of the edges in a 3 man D-line but as a DE in a 4-3 i would prefer either a FA or a draft pick with better pass rushing qualities!
I really see no reason to take Carriker and then try to move him inside to play tackle, so I would have to say no at this point. If we want a tackle, then just draft a tackle.
we want to be bigger on the DL, so if we did draft Carriker he would most definitely play as a DE for us
Play him at DE on 1ST and 2ND downs and then slide him over to DT on 3RD down. Helps our run and our pass defense!:)
Just to clarify, Carriker DID play DE in a 4-3 defense, so to play 4-3 for us would not be a switch at all. And actually, he played NT at times when the huskers went to a 3-4. Granted, this alignment lent itself more to Carriker stunting from the inside than it did a typical NT position, but he has spent time both inside and outside.
Having said all that, I would have no problem with drafting him to play opposite Little on the line. A 290 DE with freakish strength and solid penetration potential would go a long way to taking the double teams off Little.
