How do you rank the pick.
Tough to vote depending on who you listen to.
There seems to be some skepticism among the scouting experts.
Have to go with the Rams braintrust here and be thrilled that a critical need has been filled.

I'm thrilled. Most of the people who wanted Brown were convinced Barron wouldn't be there. For Barron to fall to us at 19, I think it works out very well for us.
Now we have two big bookends for the line. He's a great pass blocker, and what do they do? They pass a lot! And they can work on his run blocking come training camp! He's a starter from the get go! Very happy and thrilled ! :helmet:
We not only filled our #1 need by far, we got a legitimate backup in case pace gets hurt at any point in the next seven years, something that we have been sorely lacking. NO one and i mean NO ONE predicted that barron would be there for us at #19. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth!

Banging with the Barrons.

5 Different teams were trying to trade up to get Jammal Brown according to ESPN radio. Presumably the Rams were one of them.
Teams were much higher on Brown, but were being quiet hoping he would slip to them.
It shows a weakness in this Draft when a RIGHT Tackle is taken before any Left Tackle.
Don't look for the Running game to improve with Barron at ORT. The Right Tackle is usually mean and is a good run blocker. Barron is weak in the lower body and never has been a good run blocker.
With all due respect tony, he is a massive upgrade in the passing game from what we had on the roster, and as far as i am concerned, mean or not, he is a lot better TODAY than tercero or grant williams, let alone the upside on the kid.

I voted Skeptical. Was listening to ESPN radio when the Rams were on the clock and it was said that this guy is a LEFT tackle and will not be as good as he was trying to play right. The co-host asked whether you would rather have him knowing that or Tercero. A lot of Hmmm...
I hope they are wrong, they have been before. Will just have to see what the kid can do...
I'm content with the pick, but I am concerned.Anyway you look at it,this pick will become another PROJECT.We are taking a natural Left Tackle and are moving him to Right Tackle.I hope this pans out,but I also hope we pick up a Veteran RT just in case.
Most of the skepticism I heard was centered around the fact that he doesn't always seem to give 100 percent. One so called expert said that with a slightly better attitude and work ethic his senior year, he would have been the top ranked offensive lineman and a top three pick in this year's draft. Let's hope he comes into camp with a better attitude than he may have showed his last year in college.Quote:

I think its a great pick On the highlight real you saw Barron playing right tackle I don't see a problem Great upgrade over any player we have at RT and he can replace Pace when he retires Much better than taking OL in rounds 4 and above and waiting for them to improve. This leaves Terco to concentrate on guard
I really get a migrain when all these ???? tag along players we pick. Why cant we draft players with no baggage.:upset:
Brown was my first choice as I like his ATTITUDE but I was sure he would not be there when the Rams spot came up. Not sure if it wouod have been worth it to have traded up in order to get him.:ramlogo:
