What should the Rams do in Round 1

What do you see the Rams doing in Round 1. Personally i think they will trade up to draft LB AJ HAWK to be the centerpiece of the defense for years to come.

Others think they may move up a few spots to tak Huff.

A lot of boards have the Rams and TE Vernon Davis at 11,but trust me....someone will jump in ahead of STL to draft him before then. His combine day has several teams lining up for ways to jump into the top 10 and snag him.

The Rams could also trade down here as this is a very deep draft ....deeper than most seasons and could possibly still get a very good LB as well as secondary help and a solid TE with the extra picks it would generate.

What do you think they will do and what would you like them to do?

Part of me would love to see A J Hawk as a Ram, but for some reason, Andy Katzenmoyer keeps popping into my head...

Re: What should the Rams do in Round 1

I see Hawk and think Chris Speilman. I'd take that. We have not had a dominate player in the middle of the defense in a long time. London Fletcher was adequate, but you have to go way back to get to someone who dominated at the position. I really have a feeling this is where the Rams would like to go if they can get the right deal to move up.

For all you Davis Lovers.....forget it......
#1...he will be gone by 11.
#2 ...the rams are not going to move up to get him.
#3...The rams are addressing defense bigtime in this draft
#4 ... This is a DEEP draft for TE and we should be able to pick up a good one.....I also hear the Rams have interest in Jeb Putzier....so this may be mute.
#5 ... if the rams can't make a move up for hawk, they may look to move up for Huff. If those 2 players go,I think the rams can move down a few spots and pick up a few more picks and still get a solid db like williams. Just an opinion, but I think it all makes pretty good sense

Re: What should the Rams do in Round 1

I don't really see us moving up. I still think it's quite possible Davis makes it to #11. Talent meets need pretty well for a lot of the teams at the top right now. If he or Huff is still there, I think that'll be the pick. If not, I figure we either trade down or draft Jimmy Williams. Greenway could jump ahead of him, though, depending on how their pro days go.

He's listing his order of preference, not saying we can get all those players in various rounds.
