What signings do to draft
If the Rams sign Claiborne (and I'll believe that when contract is in hand). It makes LB less of a priority (still need depth). So I think they go this way in draft:
1. OT (Brown or Barnes depending on who is available).
2. a FS or a CB that can also play FS (Bullocks, Browner, Jackson, Butler)
3a. OG (Mankins, Johnson, Brooks)
3b. wildcard here anything from DE to LB to RB to WR to QB to TE .. I'm guessing this is the typical Rams 'surprise' pick.
Re: What signings do to draft
If the Rams sign Claiborne, I think it is unlikely that they will take a LB in the first round, but probably will still take one in the 2nd or 3rd.
I would be surprised to see a DE taken in the first round unless (1) Little is not expected to be available, or (2) a highly rated player at that position drops to the Rams.
I think RT is the best bet. However, if the Rams sign a RT (i.e. Fred Miller), they could go for a DB or simply the "best player available."
Re: What signings do to draft
I'll bet the farm that, come April 23rd, Jamaal Brown is a Ram.

Re: What signings do to draft
I'm not sure I'd cross LB off the list yet. The Rams may feel like they need to bring in someone who can compete with Robert Thomas or someone to groom to replace Coakley, as I doubt he plays the full term of that contract, all the while adding to special teams.
That said, I'd prefer the Rams to draft OL. I'd love to see someone like David Baas added to this line, because I think he's going to be a Pro Bowl guard for years to come, and if the Rams are convinced about Tercero at RT, he could compete with a cheaper free agent for the starting job. Obviously if Brown falls to them, that's a no brainer pick as well. I'd love either of those two guys in blue and gold, but we shouldn't count on them as immediate starters.
Safety is an option, but I think you nailed it that it's a second round consideration. The safety class is weak this year, and I'm not sure it's as big a priority to warrant a first round pick.

Absolutely, and especially weak at FS which we need more than a SS.
