What would be the best way to get another pick in the first 3 rounds?
Obviously, the Rams have needs. Without trading the #1 pick, what other way can the Rams get another Pick in the top 3 rounds?
We have picks 1, 33, 65. This draft is so deep I am hoping we can get another pick somewhere in the 20-40 range.
Lets say we did get 5 picks and could add:
N. Suh
Tony Pike or Dan LeFevour (prefer Pike)
Sean Weatherspoon
Danario Alexander
Dexter McCluster
If we could trade from pick #1 that would be great but seems unlikely right now, but adding 2 picks in top 3 rounds could turn the team into and a solid ball club with play makers.
In round 4-7 we could draft a OG, TE, DE, CB and still go after guys like
Vick, Scheffler, and DE/OL help in free agency.
I think our best chance to turn around the Rams is to do it this season while Warner leaves, a new coach in Seattle, and before the ***** put it all together.
Do most people agree we need another pick?
Do we have any tradable pieces to help get a pick?
I would even go as far as trading a 2nd rounder to get 2 guys we love this year.
Say we get Suh -- and trade back up to get PIKE and Alexander or PIke and Weatherspoon.
We have great opportunity this off-season to turn the franchise around.
Trade up get it done this season even if we have to give up a pick next season in round 2.
This is one of the deepest drafts in years and I don't see this depth coming back for many seasons. Espccially where those 5 guys above are potentially available at later picks for a cheaper price.

I know Nick and Avenger are mixed in picking up Vick, but you guys have to agree the depth of this draft may be the best in years?
Love to hear thoughts comments to keep the energy before the Senior Bowl and combine???

In 2009, the Seattle Seahawks traded their second round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for Denver's 2010 first round pick.
Also in 2009, the San Francisco ***** traded their second and fourth round picks to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for Carolina's 2010 first round pick.
In 2007, the San Francisco ***** traded their second round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for their 2007 fourth round pick and their 2008 first round pick.
Thus, I think past precedent suggests that if you want another pick in the bottom of the first round or even top of the second round range without sacrificing our own second or third round pick, then we would likely have to trade our 2011 first round pick to do it. I think that's a hard sell. You might be able to trade a future second rounder for a pick in 2010's third round, but that takes you well out of the 20-40 range you highlighted.
The other option would be to trade down from one of our slots as a means of acquiring more picks. The obvious scenario is trading down from the first overall pick and acquiring, say, Tampa Bay's second round pick in the process. Or the Rams could trade down from their second round spot and hope to acquire an additional second rounder or third rounder in that deal, though who knows how possible that is.

Another pick would be great, but I'm not sure I'd say we need one.

Aside from the trade-down options or trading the 2011 first rounder as mentioned above, not really. This team needs to be adding talent, not trading it away. So I'm not sure if trading players as part of packages for another Top 40 pick would be a great idea.
Re: What would be the best way to get another pick in the first 3 rounds?
yeah, it seems impossible to get more picks. Maybe we will get an option to trade that first pick, who knows.
I really hope we get get lucky and someone that we really want and don't expect to get falls to us in rounds 2 and 3......lol
This happened last season with JL and is one of the major reaons we improved on defense....
This year the draft has me more excited than ever....
can't wait for the picks
