What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
What would you bid for BYU RB Harvey Unga in the Supplemental Draft?
Remember... the Supplemental Draft is a blind auction. The trick is bidding high enough that you'll get your man without needlessly overbidding.
I'm assuming that nobody would bid a first or second round pick.Last edited by AvengerRam; -06-24-2010 at 02:05 PM.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
This guy reminds me a little of John Riggins in his straight burst, kid even has some moves. I wouldn't mind a third "IF" he shows well. We need a solid backup to SJax this might be the one to do it since Westbrook doesn't want to play for a loser organization.
I say give the kid a shot Harry!Last edited by LA Rammer; -06-25-2010 at 01:59 PM.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
I say no higher than a 5th.
He doesn't look all that impressive to me, and I would rather give Chris Ogby a shot.
If Ogby doesn't show enough of a spark for the whole season, then we could focus on drafting a back-up RB in the 2011 Draft.

Not interested, I dont think he brings anything to the table that we dont already have. In my opinion he is not any better than the backups we currently have.
Just Fix It

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
The guy has never played an NFL down, and hasn't even had his pro day yet, so assigning a value to him at this point is kind of like playing pin the tail on the donkey. Assuming he has a great pro day workout, and can run a sub 4.6 forty, it's likely he'll draw serious interest. If I'm Spags, and privy to a list of rbs likely to hit the waiver wire in a couple of months, I'd need to feel Unga had alot more upside than any of the rbs on that list. So .. let's say he wows at his workout, reinforces his "lots of upside" image .. I would offer a 4th rounder. This is tough though, as if he doesn't have that "wow" workout, turns teams off with his attitude, perceived work ethic or whatever .. I might not even make the offer ..

6th rounder or walk, he's not the only option.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
We need to improve the back-up RB position. We haven't been able to attract any household names so I guess we need to go with the old throw alot at the wall and hope something sticks approach. With that in mind ....no more than a 6th round pick.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
After reading about his work out yesterday and the numbers he put up, I'm sticking with my initial projection of our 5th round pick.
However, beware of a team like New England using a 4th rounder on him as they always pick at the end of rounds and usually have a plethora of extra picks to throw around.
I was impressed that he allegedly did not drop a pass in his session. This bodes well for what he will be doing in the NFL.
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
it seems that the rams will have to throw out a fourth to be safe here. hard to imagine a team throwing out a third but if it happens, it just wasn't meant to be. I think the Rams could possibly go with a fourth here.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
I'm hearing on nfl network (but what do they know) that it is proballly gonna take a 3rd pick. Idk if I wanna go that high for him when we have a few rbs competeing for the spot already. I mean a 3rd pick has good possiblity of contributing so unga would need to perform.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
I barely convinced myself to vote for a 5th more likely a 6th IMO, but I really don't think anyone is going higher than a 5th. We have priority so we could definately win it with a 5th. Question is he Sean Greene or Brian Leonard?

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
we are in rebuild mode. why not splash out with a 4th and see if he is can produce, i think his 40 time has to improve though. If someone else bids a 3rd, more power to them, but i think he's worth a shot.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
I think the winning answer was not interested. Doesn't look like we'll be in the bidding this year.

Re: What would you bid for Harvey Unga?
Bears take him in the seventh. Cowboys took the DT Joshua Price-Brent in the seventh as well.
Once again us fans don't have a clue lol.
