What would your dream offseason be for the Rams?

I know technically this season isn't even over with, but would your dream offseason for the Rams be? Who would you cut, who would you sign in FA, and most importantly, who would you draft?

    Mine would go as follows:

    - Restructure Sam's contract to make it cap-friendly and give the Rams more flexibility

    - Cut Dahl, Wells, Langford and maybe even Finnegan unless he structures his contract. If Finny takes a pay cut, he remains as our slot CB

    - Resign Dunbarr and Saffold to reasonable contracts. Jo-Lonn plays opposite Ogletree at OLB while Roger mans down one of the OG spots.

    - Trade down from the Skins pick but remain high enough to select Jake Matthews, where he starts at RT. Preferably the Rams would get an extra 2nd round pick this year and other picks next year.

    - Draft Louis Nix III with the Rams pick, giving them one of the most talented DL's in the NFL

    - Trade one of our two 2nd round picks to Houston for Andre Johnson, giving the Rams a true #1 receiver and someone who all the young receivers could learn from. With AJ attracting all the attention from opposing defenses, they're would be more room for Givens, Austin, and Cook to operate and make the big plays that we all know they're capable of making.

    - Sign a good Safety in FA to play next to McDonald. I would love Jairus Byrd but he'd most likely be out the Rams price range, a more realistic option might be Malcolm Jenkins or TJ Ward.

Well, thats my dream offseason and I'm sticking to itÖ what's yours?

Restructure Sam and add two years to his deal, keeping him around more and making it easier if in three years we still don't know if he's the guy it's more cap friendly to part ways with him.

Cut Dahl, Wells and Finnegan. I'd be fore bringing Finny back for less but the other two can find work elsewhere.

    Resign Smith and Williams.

Resign Dunbarr and have a competition between him and Ray Ray in camp.

    Draft
    1a) Jake Matthews T
1b) Trade down to the early-mid 20's range, pick up a 2nd and draft Jordan Matthews WR
    2a) Gabe Jackson G
    2b) Kyle Fuller CB
    3) Ty Zimmerman S
    4) Ryan Carrethers DT
    5) Jimmy Garapulo QB
    6) DT/G/C
    7) DT/G/C

    QB- Bradford, Garapulo
    RB- Stacy, Cunningham, Richardson, Pead
    WR- Matthews, Quick
    WR- Bailey, Givens
    WR- Austin
    TE- Cook, Kendricks, Harkey
    T- Long, Barksdale
    G- Jackson Williams
    C- Barnes, Jones
    G- Smith, Williams
    T- Matthews, Barksdale

    DE- Quinn, Hayes
    DT- Langford, Carrethers
    DT- Brockers, Cudjo
    DE- Long, Sims
    OLB- Tree, Dunbarr
    ILB- JL
    OLB- Armstrong, Dunbarr
    CB- Johnson, Pointer
    CB- Fuller, McGee
    Slot- Jenkins
    FS- Zimmerman, McLeod, Davis

Re: What would your dream offseason be for the Rams?

There are some excellent thoughts in this thread. However, my view is that any "dream" offseason HAS to start with a complete and pretty rapid recovery for Sammy. If Sammy doesnt come back healthy, we are looking at another long year and a big turd hanging over our future. Coming back healthy in time to get actual preseason reps is important, we dont want a replay of the rg III situation where he rushes back when not ready.

garapollo now intrigues me as a QB, lotta QBs come out of places like EIU

Re: What would your dream offseason be for the Rams?

    - Cut Scott Wells, Harvey Dahl

    - Re-sign Rodger Saffold for RG and Jo-Lonn Dunbar at OLB

    - Sign Hakeem Nicks in Free Agency

    - Trade Chris Long for a 2nd and 5th round pick.

    Draft:

1- Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
1- Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan St
    2- Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
2- Zach Martin, OG, Notre Dame
    3- Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
    4- BPA

Not sure if it's my "dream", but I certainly would be happy with it.
