What is your worst draft day memory?

I will never forget the day when our beloved Rams made this pick. Mike Schad, T Queens University. To this day I still have flash backs to the day I heard Mike Schad named called, from Queens U. I still can remember how stunned the guys covering the draft where. I think Mel Kiper said something like; I have no info on the guy, who is this guy? Why are they making this pick they could get him at anytime why the number one pick. I think Schad played seven or eight games for us. What really hurts was at this time the whiners and Bill Walsh made the draft their own personal party. Making trades, every pick seemed to be the steal of the draft and we take, Mike Schad.

I have to admit, I always walk away on draft day hoping for the best.

In hindsight, though, the draft that hurt the most for me was 1989. The Rams had two first round draft choices and selected two Miami Hurricanes (that Spring I had just accepted admission at UM School of Law) - Bill Hawkins and Cleveland Gary. I thought both would be very good players and, well... not so much.

I've never liked the D-Lew pick. With Stroud still on the table, I can't believe we went with D-Lew. Once we passed Stroud, the Jags snapped him up.

Selecting Trung Candidate in the first round. I dont believe that any players that we drafted that year are still on the team.
The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Yeah, I think one of my worst draft day memories would be the entire draft weekend of 2000.

As a native St. Louisan, I've still never gotten over the Cards' choices of Clyde Duncan and John Lee. Two of the worst-ever draft choices by an NFL franchise.
