Re: whats left for round 4
My 2 cents, who I want (in order):
Griffen, DE
Carlton Mitchell, WR
Aaron Hernandez, TE
Dennis Pitta, TE
Joe McKnight, RB
Jon Dwyer, RB
I'd be OK with anyone on this list, though.

Re: whats left for round 4
We absolutley have to take Griffen tomorrow. We need a defensive end and he is highly rated. Whatever kept people from taking Clausen eventually a team looked passed it. Whatever is keeping people off Griffen has to be looked past now getting a talent like that in the fourth round and the guy could be a starter. I also really like Dennis Pitta but Id rather grab Griffen at this point.

Re: whats left for round 4
But i think that the point is that given that there may well be missing data, and we dont know what that data is, it may not be that easy to "just look past it" in favor of talent. The announcers do not have access to all the injury reports, the results of the interviews and the personality tests.
When you hire someone for a job, do you just hire him off his resume or his SAT scores or his grades, or do you also sit and talk to him and see what type of person he strikes you as and whether he will fit in at your company.
I am fine with Griffen if thats the direction we go, i point out however that either there is missing data or the "experts" who do the mocks were way way off because most of them had first round or high second round grades on him and he is still sitting there at the top of round 4.
Many fans were blasting away at the rams for passing on him at the start of round 3, but apparantly we couldnt have been that wrong since the rest of the teams passed him in round 3 as well. People on this board, me included, were not very familiar with Murphy, and yet, there was a run on the corners and he is a big physical guy in the spags style. Its unlikely anyone would have thought that murphy would go ahead of griffen, but alas, example number one million of why predicting the draft, especially for amateurs like us with incomplete information, is a big crapshoot.

Re: whats left for round 4
I wonder if it's simply USC's defensive collapse last season? Trojan defenders have been plummeting en masse, right?
I think it would be a mistake to add another rookie catcher at this point. Try to prise the rent for a veteran out of Chippy Boy if you must, but our unit's biggest flaw last season was its youth, and adding another rookie will not change that.Last edited by PeoriaRam; -04-24-2010 at 12:35 AM. Re: whats left for round 4
After a huge run on WRs I have to vote for Carlton Mitchell from USF. By far the biggest playmaker potential left. Rams seem like they are looking long term and this kid's only issues are coachable (traps ball against his body, rounds off routes.) No other WR in this draft (except dez, maybe bey-bey) has the combination of size and acceleration beat both press and zone coverage. He's certainly the only one left that could become Sam's #1 target. At this point any other WR means you are adding just another #3 WR to a team that has 3-4 of them.

Re: whats left for round 4
We may not need to draft a question mark like Griffen if the Rams, particularly with Spags knowledge of him find a way to cut a deal with the Giants for Osi Umenyora (sp?). They just spent a 1st round pick on Jason Pierre Paul. Just a thought.
I really would like to see us draft a change of pace RB like McKnight to help SJ and our new QB.
Go Rams!
P.S. For all those questioning the pick of Saffold, Charley Casserly on the NFL Network loved him and I have a ton of respect for Charley who's run draft rooms and knows what to look for.

Re: whats left for round 4
Out of the players still available I hope Rams draft one of these players. In order of my likes.

1 TE Dennis Pitta (A great pass catcher)
2 DE Austen Lane (not Everson Griffen "No Heart" way overated, Check out what Walters football says)
3 OT Bruce Campbell (BPA) Potential to be best OT in this draft in a couple years. A. Barron gone now.
4 OLB Dekoda Watson (WLB)
5 DT Geno Atkins (pass rushing DT on passing downs)
6 RB Deji Karim (hope he is there in 5th, great change of pace back)

Re: whats left for round 4
I don't like Aaron Hernandez. He is a poor blocker, and has below average size for a TE.
Should have took Gronkowski or Graham. Ugh.
I say now we take Griffen, Atkins, or Bruce Campbell.

Re: whats left for round 4
Hey, how come no one is talking about Myron Rolle? I think that he will be a steal the way things are falling. I understand that SS/FS is not a need but OJ Atogwe is not signed and Butler was injured last year, any thoughts about him in the later rounds?

Thanks for that, it makes for an entertaining afternoon following the draft and the football on the radio.
