Who I'm hoping for on Day 2 of the Draft
The Rams have filled one need: run-stuffing DT... check!
Now, they need to improve the WR corps, bolster the OL, obtain a starting OLB, find a back-up for Steven Jackson at RB and, possibly, add a CB.
They have four picks today to use to address these needs. Here's what I'm hoping to see.
Here's what I'd like to see:
Pick #33: Reuben Randle, WR, LSU
Randle is the second highest ranking player left on my board, behind Jonathan Martin. That said, given the high number of quality OL left (including Martin, Kelechi Osemele, Cordy Glenn), I think the Rams need to secure a WR first. While Stephen Hill's elite physical tools are intriguing, I prefer Randle's combination of size, athleticism, and skill level (route running, hands). I think he's ready to contribute as a rookie, and the Rams will need him to do just that.
Pick #39: Kelechi Osemele, OG/OT, Iowa State
Sticking to my draft board, Osemele is my third ranked remaining player. I like him over Jonathan Martin at this point because the Rams seem intent on giving Jason Smith one more year to lock down the RT spot. Osemele would come in and start immediately at OG, and would be the contingency plan if Smith fails. All that said, I wouldn't be upset with Martin, or even Cordy Glenn at this spot.
Pick #45: Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina
I like Brown's freakish talent, and thought he was very productive at UNC. That said, I don't think the Rams share my opinion of him. My guess is that the Rams are more likely to select a different LB (Mychal Kendricks, Bobby Wagner) or a CB (Janoris Jenkins, Dwight Bentley) at this spot.
Pick #65: (tie) LaMichael James, RB, Oregon
The Rams need a guy who can break a big play and make life easier for the offense. James is a guy who can do that. Don't mistake him for Steven Jackson's replacement. He's not. In fact, taking James would not mean that the Rams won't need to take a RB in 2013 or 2014. But, in the meantime, he'd be a guy who could make a big difference with a modest amount of touches.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Who I'm hoping for on Day 2 of the Draft
My picks are:
#33 Reuben Randle
#39 Lavonte David
#45 Amini Silatolu/Bobbie Massie
#65 Lamar Miller/Brian Quick
Promises to be a big day for us. This where this draft will be made for us. I'm very pleased the way Les Snead is managing this draft given the circumstances we come up against.
Go Rams!
