Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
The Rams are in a great position with early picks. Also after the first round there are extremely Talent needs that will Fall in our hands....My Prediction:
1st round: Aaron Curry SLB (if he's still there, if not, OT)
2nd round: Phil LoadHolt OT
3rd round: Kenny Britt WR
4th round: Jasper Brinkley MLB
5th round: Louis Vasquez OG
6th round: Glover Quinn CB (a Steal, He Had 53 tackles, 5 int & an amazing 11 broken passes)
7th round: Antonio Dixon DTLast edited by rams 24/7; -03-12-2009 at 11:50 AM.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
I don't think they will be on the A+ list for the best draft.
I sure hope they at least get a A- and fill some key positions DT/NT , MLB & OT.
I don't think J. Bell can play RT.
Now to your Mock Draft. K. Britt will be gone late 1st or early 2nd. He won't last until the 3rd. Maybe a B. Robiski WR , Juaquin Iglesias WR or Ramese Barden WR will be there in 3rd round .
With young players at "G"(Greco & Roy Schuing) & CB (King, Wade & Hill). I would go with d-line with your 5th( Sammie lee Hill) and maybe QB with the 6th(Branstater).

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
I believe our FO knows what's going on. And by the looks of things, the draft may play out in our favor. I think we will get a good OT, LB, WR, and NT in the first 4 rounds. There's enough depth at those positions that I think we can luck out and get some great guys that can immediately help us out.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
I like your selection of Aaron Curry in Round #1 although with the release of Pace I'm beginning to think the Rams will select Jason Smith, unless the Lions take him. The Lions may also take Curry. But I would think we can do better than Loadholt in round #2. I'm reading that Loadholt is likely to play right tackle in the NFL. There is no way Kenny Britt will be around in round #3 based on the scouting reports. Also why do you have us taking a MLB in round #4 if we've got Curry? I'm not familiar with Glover Quinn, but we may need to go for a CB earlier than round #6. I'm sure the Rams will look at a DT earlier than round #7.
Good stuff, much to look forward to! Go Rams!

Britt won't make it out of Round 2. Loadholt might.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
If we're going to draft Curry, I think it's going to be because we want him at MLB, not SLB.
Kenny Britt won't make it out of the mid 2nd round.
Instead of drafting Brinkley, we should go with a DT or CB here instead.
If this was our draft, I would give it probably a B.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
the pundits yes pundits of nfl talk will never ever give the Rams an A+ for their draft this year. maybe after a couple years of changed culture they'll start to get respect, but it ain't happenin this year. signed, jaded.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
I don't know about anyone's A+ list, that depends alot on who's doing the grading. I can though comment on what the new FO and HC appear to bring so far ..
1) Bringing in solid players in FA. (Anyone see another Bennett at this point?)
2) There will be no infighting in the upcoming draft. Everyone will be on the same page. Doesn't mean there won't be debates, but there won't be any throat slitting or defamation of character as a result.
3) Given the choices made so far in free agency, I see no reason why Billy D and crew will not continue in the same vein, acquiring high character players that will produce for us. There are always elements of risk for players transitioning from college to the NFL, but I doubt there will be as much debate over this years draft as opposed to the last few under Shaw and Ziggy's watch.
Do I think we'll make anyone's A+ list? -- I have know idea. It's always nice to see NFL pundits laud one's team concerning its draft, but in the long run, how much does it count for? I like our current management and owner alot better than the previous ones, and I do believe we are on the right track .. for now ..

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
Like I said before, we either take Curry 1st rd then best OT 2nd rd if available. or Best OT 1st and best LB 2nd, if available. Then from there I'd go WR 3rd rd. DT 4th. CB 5th. And that's only if the BPA at those positions is good enough to take at the time. There are 31 other teams in this draft, some of their picks WILL effect how we pick.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
Not to belabor the point, but........you're gonna wanna flip-flop these two.2nd round: Phil LoadHolt OT
3rd round: Kenny Britt WR"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

It doesn't matter how well our draft goes we are not going to get the attention we deserve, period.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
If you want my opinion it would be a C+
I am going to ignore the Kenny Britt selection because the other guys already said it wont happen. I am not a fan of Curry so il ignore that too cuz i am totaly bias on that.
Loadholt will commit too many false starts and him and Barron on the same OL= 1st and 15 more than 1st and 10.
Brinkley is okay but i dont think he is the answer because he just cant run down the RB (he will be great in the 3-4 thou). Also i think Brinkley will go in the 3rd to a 3-4 defense as a reach.
Why would we take an OG if we have enough depth at Guard and we already have 3 capable starters at 2 Guard spots (Bell, Cogs, Greco)
IDK much about Glover QUinn but i saw that he in under 5-11 and that is not too good. So hopefully he plays tall.
I just dont understand that last pick. Antonio Dixon is probably an undrafted rookie. According to Scott Wright he is the worst DT on his list and we can do better.
Here is how i see it:
Round 1: Jason Smith OT
Round 2: Ron Brace NT
(with a big NT we dont need a really good MLB short term)
Round 3: Rashad Jennings
(fast good size RB that can compliment Action Jackson)
Round 4: Rhett Bomar
(We need to address the QB in the draft and 4th round is a good round for QBs so we cant risk Bomar off the board come 5th round)
Round 5: Antonio Appleby
(always thought he was a late rounder till AV said he is a 3rd rounder so if Appleby is off the board Kyle Moore DE should be good)
Round 6: Kenny McKinnley WR
(we need to address this position somwhere and this guy is a good Slot guy)
Round 7: Troy Nolan S
My draft isnt A+ but it addresses needs at depth.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
I don't necessarily want to get an "A+" draft because getting a high grade from sportswriters usually just means that the team took a lot of the players that have been getting positive press. For example, when the Houstons took Mario Williams over Reggie Bush, it wasn't the most popular move. But a few years later, it certainly looks like it was the right one. I think you want a front office with the guts to make calls that won't necessarily earn high marks initially.

Re: Who Think The Rams Will Be on The A+ List for Best Draft
Well, it's like this. The Rams have so many holes and draft so high that if they screw it up and don't get an A by Kiper and the so called draft experts then they just didn't try.
It's kinda like if you bubble in your name correctly you get a point on the test? By drafting 2nd or 3rd in every round, they should be able to bubble their name correctly.
