Who is the third best WR in the draft?
I think there is near consensus that A.J. Green and Julio Jones are the top two WRs in the 2011 NFL draft.
So... who's #3?
This could be an important question for the Rams if either (1) Green and Jones are gone by pick #14, and/or (2) the Rams decide that the top player at #14 is not a WR, but wish to take WR in Round 2.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
For me, it came down to Smith and Hankerson.
I went with Hankerson (big surprise).
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Cobb, if he wasn't at UK he would probably a 1st rounder ala Percy Harvin. He may not be a fit for us, but I believe he is the third best.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
For the Rams purposes, I'd say it's Baldwin, as he is the closest physically to Green and Jones. But an argument could be made for Little or Hankerson as well.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Torrey Smith for me, he wins by a nose over Hankerson. Smith just has a little more explosion for me.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
In general its Young. He's explosive and a dynamic play maker.
For the Rams its Hankerson. We have small receivers already, plus McDaniels likes tall wide-outs.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Well I'm biased and have had the opportunity to see Titus the last four years a great deal.
And what I know, based on my somewhat limited knowledge of the other players in comparison to Titus is the following;
Titus is the fastest of those listed (I would be shocked if he posts above 4.35 at the combine, and am actually thinking he will post in the 4.2s)
Titus is the probably the best route runner of the above(although I think Hankerson is also very solid in that category), and shows great fluidity in and out of his routes.
I do disagree with you though codeman, I think from watching the Rams of last year the one thing we need the most is playmakers that can deliver those 30+yard plays that can give us that extra 3-7 points to get us over the hump in some of the close games we lost last year. Quite simply for the most part nobody on the field had the explosion to deliver those plays (although Avery will be back this year), and Titus could provide that and hence be a good fit in St. Louis.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Tolliver !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You did that on purpose AV , lol !!!!!
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Tolliver? I can't say I even considered him as a possible #3 WR on the draft list. You're a lone wolf on that one.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
These 2011 Draft fresh-meat WRs, 'had to Google them all. I liked TSmith from the Terrapins: good overall measurables, apparently with no character issues.
Maryland Junior Torrey Smith

Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
It will be interesting to see if the guys on this list all run at the Combine. Their times could have a lot to do with how they ultimately rank on draft boards.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
Personally, I think it will be young. He'll be coming in a bit under the radar and I think will explode at the combine. Whether he's the best fit for us might be another story...
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
I think one thing that we all agree on is that there is potential for a very good WR to slip into round 3.
If this happens we mustn't overlook a WR simply if we drafted one in Round 1.
Todd McShay thinks Randall Cobb, Kentucky -- could be a RB...I can't see that.....sometimes McCay over does it with a "shock" analysis just to be different. Kiper is too conservative, so I guess that's why they play well off of each other.
Randall Cobb, Kentucky is not a RB. He is more a Brad Smith Wildcat / Special team/ Wr type.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
I agree that the Rams could consider taking more than one WR in the draft, particularly if there is no FA period before the draft to secure a veteran.
Re: Who is the third best WR in the draft?
i hope we grab a veteren in FA, our wr's corps are young enough, at least one proven Vet is needed to give Bradford some reliability ..
I voted Baldwin but only because of his size and potential, and fits our needs. but i like Smith to beat him out come draft time.
