Re: Why the 2012 Rams Draft was a success !!!!!!!!!!!
I too am very optimistic about the rams offseason. Starting with new ownership, the hiring of coach fisher, and our free agent signings and draft picks. However, we still have many shortcomings and let's not all start drinking the cool aid too fast. I think the point is that we all feel a LOT better and feel that we are heading in the right direction. I remind everyone that one year ago we were the division favorites and coming off a season where we made great strides, only to fall backwards in a big way due to injuries and other considerations.
In short, we dont know yet whether we have filled the holes. We have added players who we hope will fill the holes, but we need to see actual performance on the field.
Most importantly, we need to protect bradford. If we dont do that, we arent going to be a winning team (although potentially better than 2-14). We have two tackles coming off major injuries and a wide open spot at guard. That is the achiles heal of this team right now. We can succeed without a starting linebacker of future quality (we can get some stopgap help). But we need vastly improved offensive line play, and while we have some guys in place who may make that happen, it is very very far from a certainty.
Ramming speed to all

Re: Why the 2012 Rams Draft was a success !!!!!!!!!!!
Their is still plenty of time before the season kicks off to find a veteran presence for the O Line. Now that the Rams have finally got a coach in place with a good eye. It shouldn't be too difficult to find good help.? The best thing about this years draft class was the UPSIDE to the players brought in. I realize the receivers brought in could have a hard time at first, but have not the majority of us already agreed were not going to the SuperBowl this year anyway.?
Win, lose or draw Ill always rate Fisher for his swinging for the fences mindset.

Re: Why the 2012 Rams Draft was a success !!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I liked the draft.
I give the Rams a "A" just from the trades for pick 2.
The Rams gave up pick two for pick
# 6 and #39 in 2012. First round picks in 2013 and 2014.
Pick # 6 traded to Dallas for pick # 14 and # 45.
Pick #45 traded Bears (I think)for # 50 and 150.
Pick #14 Mickeal Brockers (From Wash.)
Pick #39 Janoris Jenkins (From Wash.)
Pick #50 Isaiah Pead (#45 Dallas down to Bears from Bears)
Pick # 150 Rokevious Watkins (from Bears)
First in 2013
First in 2014
So far you can't beat that. That is six picks for the #2 pick. Four in the 2012 draft and two in later drafts.
If Rams use Washingtons 2013 or 2014 first round pick to trade down for more picks it will go down in NFL or Rams History as one of the biggest trades ever.

Just registered as a user on your site today to say congrats on a good draft and a good off season. Getting Fisher as your HC was a very good move, he should improve your already good defense.
The Rams should be a good team and challenge for the NFC West title soon.
I am a big ***** fan and season ticket holder and I am looking forward to renewing the Rams vs ***** rivalry. The NFC West has been the worst division in the NFC for a while but I think the ***** and Rams will change that very quickly.
Good luck this year, except when the Rams play the *****.
