Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
I watched a few plays of the SB practice today and noticed Quinn Johnson, LSU. Thats a tough kid, big as hell also.
I watched him stick a couple of great consecutive blocks, the ball carrier broke free on both plays for what would have been TD"s...he is solid. The main drawback on him is that he has minimal experience carrying the ball. Anyway, do you think we'll be looking for a FB this year, It would be nice to have a stout blocking FB to go along with OL upgrades.
I wouldn't mind seeing him picked up in the 7th round or even as an unsigned rookie. He also played LB his first couple years in college, some comments I have heard ,is that he could make a decent SP teams player.
Any thoughts on other FB choices in this years draft? I'm not feeling good about what we already have
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
I don't know too much about the FBs in the draft (I have heard Johnson's name a few times). I do feel that the Rams should take the best available BLOCKING FB with their 6th or 7th rounder.
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
If Brannan Southerland is available in the 6th round, i think we should grab him. He is the best blocking FB in the draft
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
WE ARE NOT DRAFTING A FULLBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have too many other needs and Brian Leonard is a great fullback when he is healthy he can even become a Halfback if u need him to.
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
Wouldn't bother me.....this team needs everything but a P or a K. Why not?

I disagree, i wasn't happy when we first drafted him and I'm still not. Shouldn't your FB be you know... bigger then your halfback?

I was thinking the same thing about Johnson great blocking full back physical agressive runner. He has shown the ability to catch the ball in the senior bowl. He has even drawn some LeRon McClain comparisons. I think he would a be a great 7th round pick for us.
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
We really need a fullback. There is no way that we are going to fill every need this year. But if we want to make this offense built around Jackson, a fullback is a must.
Re: Will we be looking for a FB in the draft?
Since im from Nuw Jerzey I am totaly Bias cuz Brian Leonard is from Rutgers and that college is 5miles from my house.
But leonard is a great running and recieving full-back. He hasnt shown it much in the NFL yet in Rutgers he was a guy that got downfield and got that important block for Ray Rice.
But seriously are we really think about giving up on a 2nd rounder that we just drafted 2 yrs ago? Give him time!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't have to give up on him, we just move him to RB where he is better suited as S-Jax Backup. His body will hold up longer and he will be much more usefulll.

I would rather have Leonard be our 2nd string running back, then to lead the way for Jackson in the running game. Leonard isn't really that big, so he can't drive through lanes as well as bigger fullbacks.
Javorskie Lane, Southerland, Quinn Johnson, aall of them are big and physical.
