would you trade the #35 and our third rounder for laurienitis?
Would anyone be willing to trade our #2 and #3 to get back into the first round or to the top of the second round to get laurienitis? I would. I think he is an impact player at a position of need and i think that to rebuild this team, you do it with top quality, rather than quantity. I appreciate that our #3 is valuable, but i think you have to give quality to get quality. I think laurnitis is perfect for us in that he is a high character terrific fundementals guy who will not be a top 20 pick because he lacks elite speed and size. The lower you go in the draft the more of a crapshoot it becomes, and i think the chance to get a second impact player is something we should try and take advantage of, even if its someone other than laurienitis (ie someone else that billy and spags think is an impact guy and is available towards the last third of round 1)

If the Rams didn't have as many holes to fill as they do, I might think about a 5th rounder to move up 3 or 4 spots. A 3rd is too much IMO.

I probably would be in favor of that also since I agree with the quality over quantity line of thinking.
Jason Smith and Laurienitis would make me pretty happy.

I'm with you GC. Laurinaitis has difference maker written all over him and I would give up the 3rd to get him.

can't argue with his pedigree...
I would prefer a strong interior d-line with mediocre mlb, than a weak defensive interior with a stud like him so a lot of it will greatly depend upon what prospects Rams have their sights on. I'd hate for it to be at the cost of getting another quality player (lots of good prospects will still be there in the 3rd), but your idea has merit. I'd be for it... but only because i think he's a sure bet as a bona fide starter.

I be fine with our 2nd round, 4th round, and Pisa thrown in.
