Would You Trade Torry Holt?

Seeing as how Detroit seems to love signing former Rams whenever they become available, it led me to this question. Would you give up Torry Holt, number 13 and a 4th for the Lions 1st (number 2 overall), Shaun Rogers and a 6th?

I say we turn that second pick into Calvin Johnson and DT problems solved, what about you?

I agree with FTG, but that aside, this is how I see it; Torry Holt is a top 5 wideout in the league,hands down. Calvin Johnson has never taken a snap in the NFL. He could be the next best thing since sliced bread,or he could be J.J. stokes, or somewhere in between, but Torry Holt is Torry Holt.

First, let me say there's absolutely no chance Calvin Johnson in the Rams offense turns into JJ Stokes. He already posseses great hands, great speed, great size, and a great attitude. Which is to say he is already far ahead of JJ Stokes. In a Ram uniform this guy is an all-pro in his second year guaranteed.

If Torry were 3 years younger maybe I don't make the trade, but he's not. So I do.

Secondly Shaun Rogers is an instant problem solved at DT. Our biggest need is DT isn't it?

There are few if any players in the league I'd consider trading him for. Even if a guy has been successful on another team (or in college), you never know how he'll pan out in a new situation. We've got a proven star and moreover a guy who has done a lot for our team. Besides moving up to the second pick means tying up a ton of money in a guy who has yet to prove he can be successful in the league.

look, I get what your saying, but J.J. Stokes possesed most if not all of that prior to his (bust), i love shaun rogers but not at the loss of holt for an unproven player which Johnson is.Just my opinion.

if the raiders had already picked and taken russell, i would trade holt straight up for the 2 to take calvin johnson. I am not interested in adding to that for the priveledge. Shaun rodgers was suspended last year. He is not an instant solution to our problems at the cost of torry holt. I wouldnt mind having rodgers, but not in a holt deal.

How many times do we need to see "sure thing" WRs fail before we will stop believing that the "next big thing" can't fail?

Torry Holt is a future HOFer who is still in his prime. You don't trade players like that.
