Wow - worse possible scenarios so far for Rams

Man is the draft setting up poorly for the Rams. Jamaal Brown is gone; Davis is gone, Barron will probably go to Houston; means they'll either have to reach on Barnes at OT; Pool at FS; or Jackson at CB/S; or even Erasmus James or Pollack at DE.

Even if Houston takes him, Barron's stock seems to be falling. Looks like a trade or a reach for Martz's Armey. Good luck and may God have mercy on their souls.

The chuckleheads over on the "Official" Rams board are advocating Aaron Rodgers at #19. "Oh, yeah! If we can't upgrade our O-line, we're gonna need a good backup at QB." Good Lord. Help us.

I did not like his ESPN TV interview..

    (In essence)
Torry Holt said we hear a lot of stuff about you being passive and meek. Alex tell us today how you will come in and play toughnose football.

Barron: I'm glad to be chosen here at this spot, we'll see what happens.

Holt put words in his mouth twice and Barron lived up to his REPutation and didn't say the right thing about how he'll do whatever it takes, or have no problem playing physical ball.

It's really hard to make naturally passive players play hardnose. The scouts agree that Barron would benefit from some aggressive moves in his blocking arsenal. Even his passing blocking technique is to absorb punishment.

Tremendous upside, Tremendous potential to break your heart.

I think the Rams FO really wanted Jammal Brown, real bad!

Do you guys remember the knock on Pace as well. To quiet, soft spoken, wasn't mean, all the potential in the world just needs to step up his game. Hummmm sounds like a lot of familiar hub bub to me.

Lets give the kid a chance. Anything will be better than Turley at this point *LOL*

Wishful thinking - nothing like words on Pace

I think you're exaggerating on Pace. He was considered a dominating tackle with tons of pancakes - his off the field demeanor was passive, but on the field he was very aggressive. The knock on Barron is that he is passive ON the field

Barron just fine with me! 1 of the best OT out there.

Sure, Jammal Brown does display a more "fiery" and nasty attitude than Barron. Bah! :bored:

That's okay, Ramhard! Just a couple of days ago I was reading how the Texans were almost certainly going to pick ALEX BARRON at 13, which in turn would -- hopefully -- give us a slightly better opportunity to find Jammal Brown at 19. Translation: Barron just as coveted as, or more than, Brown.

Instead, Texans hand the Saints the No. 13 pick and N.O. opted for Brown. Our 1st choice is Barron at 19. As far as I'm concerned, a great selection.

No, no. FAR from "worse possible scenarios so far for Rams".

    Looking quite decent, I'd say!

Ok ok ok Uncle I give!!!!

I admit there is no way I though Barron would make it all the way down to #19.... so given the options I think the Rams made a great choice.

I love it...last week we hear a ton of "Brown's not good enough, I wish we could get Barron", now it's more about "Barron isn't tough enough, I wish we could have gotten Brown".

Truth is, either one could start at RT for us. Brown is meaner, but Barron is physically better. Armey called him a carbon copy of Pace BEFORE the draft. He'll learn from the best and do a fine job.

I did not think Barron would be there at 19, but he was and I think it was a good choice for the Rams. Barron is not about flashy play or talk. Did you catch what he was wearing? A tshirt and a long sleeve button down shirt. I know that it is probably silly to judge someone on their clothes, but his style seems to indicate that he will be a solid and consistent, a dependable guy to have in the trenches.

I was happy that Davis was already picked up. I don't see him being able to step in and make an impact right away. I think he needs time to develop.
