WRs out there (FA) that fit our system and worth a look
Legedu-Naanee -- He is a great blocker and can play inside and outside. I def think he can be had for cheap is a good vet to have around.
Early Doucet -- Often shows flashes of speed and strength. Has routes and some down the field ability. Not bad for the price and can play the outside.
Braylon Edwards -- No doubt he fits our system and is a good blocker than has tools. He had should AC joint problems., he is good fit, BUT ONLY IF 100% healthy....gotta think he isn't since there isn't much interest...
That is about it for free agents, but there are alot of trade options...
It will be interesting what will happen...those are my top 3 left for the RAMS --
Jerricho Cotchery would be 4 --maybe Jerome Simpson #5Last edited by richtree; -03-19-2012 at 04:27 PM.

I think if Edwards has discipline and work ethic has changed, that might be the best option. Assuming health is 100%.
If not I like early Doucet and/or SimpsonThe Kroenke-Snead-Fisher-Bradford Era

If anything just for depth until we can fill out a roster via draft or trade

At this point, I'd rather focus on WRs in the draft if I was the FO.

You could have saved time by simply posting: "There are no WRs left in FA."
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: WRs out there (FA) that fit our system and worth a look
The first thing that came to my mind was are any of those guys better than what we currently have and I dont believe they are. So in my opinion none of them are worth signing. We have enough average wr's adding more won't fix anything. We need to upgrade not over spend on wr's whose talent is no better than what we have.
Just Fix It

Assuming Edwards passes a physical, I'd definitely pick him up for his familiarity with the system Schotty's running. If he still has that same blazing speed, and doesn't drop catchable balls, we'll have a nice complimentary stop-gap receiver to groom with our rookie WR.

Just so you know, last year Doucet had more receiving yards than any Rams receiver. And I don't bring that up to convince people that we should sign him. More to highlight how inept our receivers, and the passing game in general, was last year.

I think you miss the point. Doucet is nothing more than a slot wr. Our slot guy last year was Amendola who got injured. I dont dis-agree that our wr's are not that good but do you think Doucet would have had the most yards on this team last year even if Amendola was healthy?

Re: WRs out there (FA) that fit our system and worth a look
Did I say that? No i didn't. I don't think that at all. I never said that if Doucet was on the Rams he would have had the most yards.
My point was that a wide receiver that isn't great quality, such as Early Doucet, still managed to get more yards last year than any Rams receiver did. That not only highlights how rubbish our passing game was last season, but also gives an indication that maybe the receivers we do have on the team aren't that good to begin with. So maybe we shouldn't knock signing someone like Doucet when we have someone like Brandon Gibson starting for us.

Re: WRs out there (FA) that fit our system and worth a look
There are no WR's left worth signing based on what we have on the roster already. We also have to realize that we are not going to solve all our deficiencies in 1 off-season. Let's have a solid draft where we draft either Blackmon, Floyd or Hill (not all 3) at different draft spots of course and let's also fix our O-Line and D-line as needed. We also need to re-sign some of our own FA's like Amendola and Stewart and Chamberlain. The worst thing we could do is chase inferior talent and over-pay them. I'm totally confident that neither Fisher, Snead or Demoff would do that.
We will not be Super Bowl contenders in 2012, that's the harsh reality facing us. I just hope we show marked improvement and develop young players for the future without filling the IR with a ton of players.
Go Rams!
