Yeremiah Bell

Dolphins free agent S Yeremiah Bell plans to test the open market.
Bell should be a good low-risk gamble for clubs in need of a hitter at strong safety like the Raiders and Rams. At worst, he'll be a top special teams player. Bell is over sixth months removed from a torn Achilles' tendon.

Would be an inexpensive replacement for Corey Chavous for the short term.

Re: Yeremiah Bell

I'm really not sure we've seen anything from Bell to suggest he'd be a significant upgrade at the position. We don't need another old average starter; we need youth and a potential heir to that spot.

Re: Yeremiah Bell

As Nick said, we should really stop signing the old average players. We should build from the bottom now since our team is full of veterans.

Re: Yeremiah Bell

I agree, we need young players on defense to build around. However, something needs to be done with the SS position. Chavous clearly needs to be replaced because he just doesn't seem to be able to make plays.

Bell is mediocre, I agree, but he can lay the wood. If we're not going to address the SS position this offseason, a look wouldn't hurt.

I agree with you about Chavous, but I don't think Bell is the answer. To old!
