ZZR's Rams 3-Round Mock

I was going to try and go without projecting my version of the Rams first day draft, but I couldn't resist.

1. Ernie Sims (LB) - He'd be a good coverage linebacker (better than Greenway IMO), fast, a bit undersized though. I think he could be a playmaker. I wouldn't be opposed the trading down a few spots to make this pick but I wouldn't be upset if they picked Sims as long as Ngata, Huff, Davis, and Hawk are gone. Backup Option: Bunkley

2. Leonard Pope (TE) - Huge, good hands, pretty good speed. Gotta be better than Manu and could contribute right away. Backup Option: Youboty

3. Jonathan Lewis (DT) - Smaller defensive tackle who gets good penetration. Backup Option: O'Callaghan, Edwards

Oh I don't mind that. Sims like Greenway is a play maker!

I've been reading a lot more on Greenway tonight...I'm really torn. It looks like an either/or situation.

I think Greenway is the safer pick but Sims may have the bigger upside.

One thing about Sims thats bad is that he is 1. Undersized (Who cares though) and 2. He has concussion problems. He has sat out alot of games because concussions.

The concussion issue really is the only reason Sims is on the lower end of my top ten big board. It'd be one thing if it were a leg injury that has healed over but still may be a slight concern. But multiple concussions is a big red flag in my book, and while Sims as a player has a lot of skill and upside, none of that will mean anything if he's missing time from being knocked around.

I'd pass on greenway and take hodge in the second as the LB pick and take DT od CB/S in the first
