ZZR's Restricted Free Agent List
I got to thinking after reading the "What Should The Rams Do With Their Remaining Cap Money" thread on the main board. I've put together a list of RFA's team-by-team and gave them a 4-star rating system.
Here's the rating system I used.
* - DEPTH/SPECIAL TEAMS
** - AVERAGE STARTER/GOOD DEPTH
*** - SOLID STARTER
**** - GOOD STARTER
Players in BOLD are guys that I happen to really like, taking into account talent, compensation and our needs.
Some bigger names (Will Demps, Andra Davis, Will Witherspoon, etc.) were left off because the compensation was simply too high.Code:TEAM POS PLAYER RAT COMP ARI FS Quentin Harris * NONE DET CB Chris Cash ** 5th GBP DE Aaron Kampman * 5th MIN FS Brian Russell ** NONE SFF OG Eric Heitmann ** 7th SFF OG Kyle Kosier * 7th WAS FS Andre Lott * 5th BAL TE Terry Jones * 5th BAL SS Chad Williams ** 6th DEN CB Kelly Herndon *** NONE IND OG Tupe Peko *** NONE JAX LB Akin Ayodele **** 3rd KCC LB Scott Fujita *** 5th OAK LB Tim Johnson * NONE PIT FS Chris Hope **** 3rd SDC DE DeQuincy Scott ** NONE TEN DE Carlos Hall *** 7th TEN LB Brad Kassell * NONE

Not sure I'd spend a third rounder on Chris Hope, but I agree with everyone else you bolded. I think Peko would be a nice pick-up as well.

Re: ZZR's Restricted Free Agent List
Well done Zig. Does anyone know if the FA FS's are getting the kind of money that the CB's are? If not, maybe Chris Hope would be someone to consider. He sounds like he's a hard hitter and is pretty good on special teams as well. Here's his profile:

Re: ZZR's Restricted Free Agent List
I meant to put Peko in bold. FIXED.
Also, I wouldn't expect free safeties to get contracts nearly as high as cornerbacks are getting. Mainly because it's easier to find a solid FS than it is to find a good starting QB.

Nice job, ZZR. RFAs tend to get overlooked during the FA season, way to stay on top of it.

That's where some of the best value is. We've got a few draft picks to throw around so I'd like to see us go after a couple of these guys.
It looks like Seattle's made the first RFA move. They offered Kelly Herndon a 4-year deal I believe. I don't know much else about the deal but Denver has 7 days to match.

Re: ZZR's Restricted Free Agent List
Nice list, Zig. The guy I'd look at is Carlos Hall. He's a decent pass rusher and a 7th is a nominal price to pay.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: ZZR's Restricted Free Agent List
I agree totally, AV. I also really like Chris Cash. He'd be an awesome nickelback and would be a good starter in emergency situations. I'd give up a 5th for him.
