I'm a Huge Nascar fan too. I married into it (I was originally trying to get in good with the father in law). But I'm all about Hendricks racing.

Anyhoo....Good to see that I'm not the only Rams fan here that has a football offseason passion for Nascar. Go Dale Jr!.......Go Rams!

Wink Re: Any Nascar Fans In Ramland?

Big Time NASCAR fan myself. Although I think the TV coverage has went downhill since FOX and NBC bought their way in. I am also not too thrilled with having TOYOTA in the truck series picture and I will loathe the day they are allowed into the cup series.

AlabamaRam, I remember you and your pics from years back. Been awhile. Nice to see you are still into the paint shop and an avid Rams fan.

Alabama, home to Talladega SuperSpeedway !!

Tell me, are the folks downhome still cryin' bout an Earnhardt not winning the Talladega race?

There is always "Fix or repair daily" too....

The risks are there Rammie, but they do have some pretty good safety devices put into those cars to help keep the guys safe.

Re: Any Nascar Fans In Ramland?

I've been watching NASCAR now for about a year. A friend of mine just put $500 down on a driver at Darlington, to win $18,000 (35/1).

...unfortunately, it wasn't Biffle! he's not too thrilled right now.

Bama, Thanks for the pictures of the truck. I am getting some ideas that my checkbook can't keep up with. But, if you have more, and IF it is alright, you could send a zip to me with all pictures of the truck. If not okay, I understand.

If so use the following address:

    thoey1963_@_sbcglobal.net

Just remove the "_" to make it a valid address.

Re: Any Nascar Fans In Ramland?

I used to think it was boring to JK. You have to have a couple of favorite drivers who are halfway decent to enjoy it though. If your favorite is Dave Blaney you won't finish watching a lot of races. And if you don't have any drivers you like you will fail to see the point of going fast and turning left. I picked Hendrick's because my wife hated them with a passion. She regrets that I have turned to the dark side but it makes race day a lot more exciting (and dangerous, she hits hard).

Things I don't get the appeal of watching:

    1. Golf
    2. Poker
    3. Bowling
    4. Cars going around a track

Now, if they had four guys playing poker on a race track while cars scream past and people on the infield hit golf balls and throw bowling balls at them...

    Now, that I would watch!

I'm stuck in the poker craze but I can't watch the stuff on television. All they do is show you the best hands at the table. That be like if they were to fast forward to the touchdowns and turnovers in football and not show you everything in between.

I do play in tournaments every two weeks on campus and around town. We actually hosted one at my house this summer. Good times.

Re: Any Nascar Fans In Ramland?

If I had to give anyone a race to watch that would help you "get it", I would have to suggest the following.....Any restrictor plate track (Daytona & Talladega)....Super fast....super exciting. Then, after that I'd have to go with Bristol....Small track...lightning fast & lots of action.

Pick a car (Dale Earnhardt Jr.)....Watch the race....but be careful.....you may just like it.

    Go Rams!
