Now you know why I don't take chest pains lightly, don't ya?
Now get back in bed! MOM's orders!
Here's the whole scoop on the poop:
Sam called me from work while taking a break Thursday, as per usual, when he makes the mistake of telling me he has had chest pains ALL MORNING. Now me, I don't take these things with a grain of salt, so I get Sami to put her flip flops on, get in the truck, and fly to the hospital he works in. When we get there, Sami, who is 4'2" and weighs just under 70 pounds, and I drag him into the ER to make sure everything is kosher. At first, it was looking like they might be, until a second EKG was done. That was when we knew something wasn't exactly right with the picture, and everyone went into another gear, and he was transported to the Cardiac wing at St. John's. They did an angiogram and a heart ultrasound today. They found one small blockage in one artery, about 30-40%, and minor hardening in others. Not enough for surgery, but enough to cross your fingers and hope meds work. His cholesterol is back up to 230, so he will be put back on Lipitor, and they are gonna give him a blood thinner and a couple of other heart meds. He is mistaken about the heart attack, though, as they found damage from a previous attack, and not recent, either. I am guessing that it was from early 2006, when they thought he might have had a stroke, and his CT and MRI were clean, but that's just me. To sum it up, MOM is once again Sam's hero, because if I hadn't made him go, he would have had another one before too long.
