I drive a 1998 Ford Ranger (Rams Gold). I'll be the first to tell you I don't know the first thing about cars. :mask:

Indy 500. Danika Patrick is a corageous young lady. Chances are she won't finish the race (out), so I read today. But it will be a real attraction. She might turn out to be the rookie of the year!

Drooling as I say, thay aint nottin pedestrian about a MOPAR 383. Especially in a '65 300.

In '65, that was the BASE model. No hemis, but the 413 cross-ram was the upgrade option. I like the 383 for its comparative simplicity. Parts for old "c-bodies" like mine are hard to find. (e.g. No motor mounts avaiable, had to use an adapter kit with Dodge Ram truck mounts... works fine though not original).

Although, he did keep his 54 New Yorker Deluxe with a 331 Hemi. Nice ride.

Now THAT sounds like my kind of car. Although I also wouldn't mind a '61 Imperial. My co-corker has a wife who loves retro cars. She wants to trade in the minivan for a nine-seater '65 Olds Vista Cruiser station wagon. That is a woman with taste. (My wife has taste too, she loved the '73 baby blue Dodge Dart with the white vinyl roof that I got her. Unfortunately local salt contributed to the collapse of the torsion bar sockets. I had the car picked up by a "no-crush" Mopar yard.)

BTW, Danika is a local girl for us (Rockford, Illinois)!! The Neons are made next door in Belvedere, and a new mystery car will be made there next year.

CBHTR, those Darts were / are nice! Simple, economical, reliable; well made.

I like that size and era of cars too: the Comet, the Falcon, the days gone by and many miles traveled. Too bad car maintenance has now been relegated mainly to changing the oil, which, of course, is imperative. But when you see one of those ultra well kept cars, clean inside and out ... ahhh, American automobiles just have a unique place in the culture of this land.

Americana at its best. Like baseball, football and fast food.

My jaw-dropping admiration also goes to those beautiful prototype monster cars that became legends in LeMans in the late 60s and into the 70s: Ford's GT40. Porsche, Lola.

My first car was going to be a '68 AH Sprite. Dad sold it to someone that made a sweet offer. We had owned it since new in 1969. Not an MG, but could have been with a decal change or two.

Antiques, exotics, muscle monsters, you name it. Sold! Jay Leno knows a thing or two about all this. He has a 56(?) Buick with a huge performance engine in it and drives it frequently.

I like some of you dont know the first thing about cars. I own a 2004 f-150 supercrew and my wife has a 2005 ford explorer sport trak. In my wife's vehicle we put in tv's in the headrests for the kids with a dvd player under the seat. I recently took a trip to Disneyland and it was the quietest trip I have ever had. That's probably the best investment I ever made.

Rampower, have you seen the commercial on Mini Coopers where they warn about fakes?

I thought it was funny, this poking on "fake" Minis being made to look like them and yet are so off. Wouldn't mind buying a new one (a 'real' one) for my daughter.
