    The Clarks

One of my favorite small bands is The Clarks. They are from PA and I have seen they live a few times. They put on a good show.

The Clarks will be the musical guest on The Late Show w/ David Letterman on Tuesday August 31st. Check them out if get a chance.

I used to see Los Lonely Boys here in Austin all the time. Now, they have the 7th ranked video on VH1.

    Los Lonely Boys

I picked up the Los Lonely Boys cd yesterday because of your recommendation tx. I'll give it a listen. I always find the small bands more enjoyable.

Since I live in Morgantown, I've seen the Clarks a number of times when they've made the trip down to WV. They're a pretty good band, but I haven't gotten into their new stuff as much as their old. I'll be sure to check them out on Letterman, Utter!

That's cool that you have seen them too Nick. I think their new stuff is aimed at the chicks so it's not a real surprise that you like the old stuff. The singer is darn sexy and they have a good stage show.

    Re: The Clarks

It amazes me just how little I know. The Clarks? I know you aren't talking about Stanley Clarke ... or Wesley Clark ... but just what kind of music do they bring to the ear that would encourage one to see them?

Now if you were to try some eclectic stuff to compare The Clarks to you might rewind the reel-to-reel back to Velvet Underground with Lou Reed or if a fancier musicial contraption is needed like a CD you could try Illegal Substance. And speaking of Clark you could bounce The Clark's vibe off the Romantic Warrior with Stanley Clarke, Al DiMeola, Steven Gadd, and Chick Corea.

I suppose I could flip the TV on on Aug. 31 if the boys have figured out how to splice into that cable line year ... which reminds me that even if that is fixed they have wanted me to check out what is wrong with the Rabbit Ears they installed ... said something about the fur still causing interference ...

    Exclamation Re: The Clarks

I suppose this is as good of place as any to go off on a tangent. Especially since I did not want to do so under the nomination thread. It is good to see you juxtapose various musical bands, adarian. Speaking of juxtapose, adarian, I remember you uttering that word in the past. I don't remember the exact details, but I am sure it was also a case of improper usage. As colloquially adept as you might think that your writing is, it is gramatically incorrect to juxtapose an opposing view. One may juxtapose views and hence one side of said juxtaposition is in fact the opposing view.

Given that bit of info, the word juxtapose should be taken out behind the livery stable and properly whipped. Afterwards, it should be dragged, by a beast from the stable, into the hollow and strung up to a metaphoric tree and hung by its' multiple syllables, whereby, it could be pulled apart and bannished from all dialects, never to be uttered again.

What, me argue? I have never been one to make an argument to sway public perception or influence how one might be inclined to vote for said perception, simply for the sake of trying. Well....trying or not trying, at least the perception is that I am somewhat congenial about it. If you have any contentions with that, then you know where to find an obliging me.

    Talking the literary tangent

is off and running. This has nothing to do with the Clarks and you know it.
You boys stop playing around and stick to the topic at hand.

Thanks utter, sorry I didn't catch it. She's right, every thread dosen't have to have an argument associated with it.

Uh, just to refresh myself on what the topic at hand was ... let's see ... was it:

Okay. Now that I am clear with that, let me see what my response was ...

Sounds like I stayed on topic to me ... just seemed to ask what kind of music did the Clarks' play ... don't think I got a response to that. Maybe that was because I veered off topic in the next paragraph ...

Ah ... nope. Didn't veer off topic there either. Just threw out the names of other bands and musicians to compare the Clarks' music to.

So who is arguing Tx? Looks as if all I said was:

But if you want to find fault with me for not knowing the Clarks' music, fine. Have at it. But maybe you might try to be somewhat more careful when you suggest that I was arguing about anything. Wasn't arguing about anything. But that is what one comes to expect after having been to The Hollow.

    Re: The Clarks

Well ..., UtterBlitz chastised us boys for not sticking to the topic at hand. I thought someone was agreeing with her ... so I was just really responding to her remark and just brought someone in when they might not have been saying anything about me arguing at all. Whatever ...
