    Only 28 000 in Asteroids?

    I've gotten over 90 000 once. My smallest was 36 000.
And over 90 000 in Tetris.

Yea, but those are Canadian points as opposed to American points. The exchange rate is a killer. -rimshot-

    Re: cowboyhater a god

Alrighty, I grabbed the high score and second place in Asteroids, As for Tetris, I thought it would be 1000 Pts Per row (I.E 90 Rows = 90 000)

I would have had lots more on Asteroids but I had five lives and that little ship was there and every time I would come back to life it would shoot me right away.

EDIT: Here's a Screenshot of me on another site getting a pretty high score, 20 000 away from the list.

Jiffy192 was my name at another Forum I used to go to.

*****Admin, removed, it was way to big, sorry *****

The only way cowboyhater will be beaten is by a forty year old virgin comic book collecter living in his mother's basement...
    otherwise, CH has the crown....

    Re: cowboyhater a god

First, before Ram Wraith suggests that I get a job, it should be noted that as of this writing, he has spent more time than I have at this stuff.

Second, it should be noted that I have a job. Sometimes I am waiting for very long file/database transfers and installs, and if there is no pressing technical material to read, I can take a break while waiting for the file transfer, etc.

Third, there is a lovely Mrs. Cowboyhater, and two young Cowboyhaterettes.

Anyone with over 2,000 posts is vulnerable to suggestions of getting a job/life, etc.

My play at Asteroids would be better if I had a proper 5 button controller. Actually, I finally got used to the goofy keyboard layout (rotate should be on left hand, thrust should be on right index finger, fire on right middle finger. Hyperspace is pretty much unusable at the shift key.) In any event, I could probably play forever now because the little ship is not as deadly as the arcade version. However, the game does not destroy the little ship in a collision (it should) and the little ship should be gone when you get your next life. In any event, if you can lose less than one life per 10,000 points, and the game gets no harder, you can play indefinitely. I got bored after 60,000, and the missus was calling me for dinner.

In my college days (early '80's), I had my best job ever. I was a contributing editor for Video Games magazine, and also wrote strategy sessions for Video Gaming Illustrated. My sophomore grades suffered greatly (I had an Atari 2600, Mattel Intellivision II, ColecoVision with the add-on modules, Atari 5200, Spectravideo SV-318, GCE Vectrex, Starpath Supercharger, N.A.P. Odyssey˛ and a Coleco Adam. I never got my mitts on a Bally Astrocade or an Emerson Arcadia).

    Re: cowboyhater a god

It gets way too repetitive to play space invaders for 60 000 points, it hardly gets harder.
