That WAS classic. When's the last time you heard "station break"? To bad we didn't see and hear a nose break. What a punk Rome was, and is. He's lucky Everett didn't break him into little pieces and end his career right then and there. Talk about smack!

I really don't understand why so many people like Jim Rome. He's a dink. His show is absolutely unlistenable (is that a word?). I wish all his shows would end like the Everett interview.

Ha ha ha...... I knew about the incident but had never seen it until now. Thanks for that.

Everett was tagged "Chrissy" by Rome because Rome said that when the pass rush was hot Everett had a tendency to skip in the pocket and get rid of it to no-one in particular in order not to get hit. Chris Evert was an American tennis pro, and Rome used his weighty IQ to tie Everett with Evert..............

What made it worse was that Rome said he'd got the idea (Or even the name) after several negative comments by "unamed" Rams players.

It was all while we were falling to 5-11 or something in 89-90 and people were looking for reasons why, when we had virtually the same personnel, we were doing so badly.

Everett was about 6'5 and 220lbs, so Rome was even more stupid then than he sounds today. You can be controversial without being offensive.
