Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!
How are you celebrating the day?
Me, I started mine out by talking crap at the whiner's board AND the vikings board...
then lawn work, followed by beer and barbecue.

Re: Father's Day
Tonight my head is bowed in sorrow
I can`t keep the tears from my eyes
My son calls another man daddy
The right to his love i`ve been denied
My son calls another man daddy
He`ll never know my name nor my face
God only knows how it hurts me
For another to be in my place
Each night i laid there in prison
I pictured a future so bright
For he was the one ray of sunshine
That shone through the darkest of nights
My son calls another man daddy
He`ll never know my name nor my face
God only know how it hurts me
For another to be in my place
Today his mother shares a new love
She just couldn`t stand my disgrace
My son calls another man daddy
And longs for the love he can`t replace
My son calls another man daddy
He`ll never know my name nor my face
God only knows how it hurts me
For another to be in my place
Hank Williams 1950
kinda sums it up for me without scraping my heart out to express the way i feel today and everyday....
ok back to all you lucky dad`s sorry for being a damp squid on your celebrations!

Re: Father's Day
Sorry to hear that Drew.
As for what I did, I woke up, got a present from my wife and daughter (Seinfeld season 8 and a keychain & mousepad with my baby's picture on it), went to church, went to lunch afterwards at my favorite steakhouse, dropped off the baby at home, and now off to an AFL game...a pretty good day I'd say.

Re: Father's Day
Not a father, but I took my Dad, Mom, and brother to see FF: RotSS (they ruined Galactus), and then I bought everyone ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery. Later I helped my dad some with building a deck.
I get why you're talking trash on our board, but why the Vikings board?

I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Re: Father's Day
Went to church, watched the Dogdirts lose to the California Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim, wimped out of yardwork and went to Dad's for a bar-b-que..... and finish the day as I always do with a visit to the best message board I know....

Re: Father's Day
Went to church, had lunch with my parents and my wife's parents; gave my dad a gift card to Bass Pro, got a MP3 player from my boys.
All that's left to do is figure out how to operate a MP3 player."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Father's Day
Is an mp3 player the device that allows you to get instant score updates at the same time as it flashes across the bottom of the espn news screen?

Re: Father's Day
No, an MP3 player is a device to make old farts look even more technically inept.
