Re: favorite dessert
Not a big dessert eater, but I'd have to say ice cream tops the list. Specifically - vanilla on top of a brownie.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

General Counsel, you have the munchies or something? I just got on and noticed that you have several posts about food on here, lol.
I guess my fav dessert would be lemon meringue pie.

Re: favorite dessert
Wells-Blue Bunny Ice Cream Company used to make a "Feature Flavor" a few years ago that I loved. (I wonder if eating all that ice cream is what made my cholesterol so high....nah, had to be the dead cow, um, beef I eat...). It was called "Death by Chocolate". It was a dark chocolate ice cream, with a fudge ribbon, dark chocolate candy pieces, and chocolate truffles. It was the most decadent ice cream I ever ate from a carton. I recently wrote to Blue Bunny and asked them to ressurect a modified version of this ice cream...Dark chocolate ice cream, a white chocolate ribbon, fudge chunks, and chocolate truffles...all in a low fat, low cholesterol version for those of us who can't have the real thing. They even wrote back to tell me they are snding my idea to their R & D department for consideration. (and it wasn't a standard form letter, either!)
Of course, the only thing that makes it better is some homemade chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven (with the obligatory cookie dough spoonfuls while baking). And to those who add any kind of nuts...WHY RUIN THE COOKIES?

Re: favorite dessert
That cheese cake looks good.........
I'd have to go with Bread and Butter pudding, or maybe spotted dick, or maybe figgy dowdy, or maybe treacle pudding, or maybe apple crumble. or maybe orange drizzle cake and custard, or maybe a triple deck chocolate cake, or maybe..................

Re: favorite dessert
Spotted dick is suet with raisins
Figgy dowdy is an old recipe made famous by O'Brien in his 'Master and Commander' which series, which some bery committed fans have seen fit to try and cook. Involves like most British puddings suet, raisins, crushed biscuit and is strangely palatable, alhtough I think my mother cheated with the biscuit.
Treacle pudding is yet more Suet pudding but on this occasion it's covered in what I think Americans might call a very thick 'syrup'. Served with hot custard and revoltingly sweet.

Re: favorite dessert
All this talk of suet pudding is making me homesick.
The best dessert you get here is red bean curd with seame rice dumplings. Tastes like slightly sugared red mushy peas with gelatinous eyebals filled with sesame paste.

I'm like AV - not big on desserts, but like vanilla ice cream with Hershey's dark chocolate sauce.
