Re: George Carlin Died

Everybody talks about the 7 things you can't say on tv but to me his best work was "Stuff". Why would I want their stuff? I have my own stuff....why go to a yard sale and buy stuff that the other person doesn't want just to have more stuff? And so on.....

Classic

Re: George Carlin Died

im with you on that TX...i lent the album "a place for my stuff" ...erm ..(remembering lending is against copyright laws) i lost the album and found it at my mates house... and he didnt get it really...but its clever comedy at its best..

i looked on George as the Willie Nelson of comedy, respect to the man...can just picture George with Andy Kaufman,Richard Pryor,Lenny Bruce,Bob Newhart,Bill Hicks & Screamin` Sam Kinison..i bet they havin` a riot wherever they may be right now!

dont know if anyone knew it already but before becoming a professional comedian George was a driver in the mobile news department of some network(cant remember which one,but was one of the major networks...)but got sacked for drivin cross country in the mobile to score some pot!...not that im condoning that sort of activity or condemning it....

Truly one of the greatest comics of all-time - he'll be missed.

... I'll go ahead and add Mitch Hedberg to that list, too.

RIP George

Don't forget George Burns!

Carlin was one of my heroes growing up. "Cute little farts" was hysterical when I was 9. That was the hook. I believe that was from "Occupation: Foole". Here's to hoping he looks up at us and smiles every now and again. (Before anyone gets offended by that, watch his last HBO special "It's Bad For Ya", and you'll get the reference.)

His rant on the differences between baseball and football is beyond hysterical.
