Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

Hi, my name is Tawn, but you better call me MOM, or you'll get a whoopin'!

I am also in the Ozarks, probably about 15 miles or so down the road from HUbison and SFC, although I was born here...

I live with RamFanSam, and together we have LilRamSami. I enjoy mixing things, 80's metal music, shooting stray cats with a BB gun from my roof, poking people with sticks while they sleep, and run giggling when they wake up, and all things torture. I am also a CSI nut, imagine that!

I have been a lurker for almost as long as RFS, and began posting with him under the same name. After giving myself carpal tunnel syndrome saying, "Hey, MOM here", I finally broke down and joined as myself. This was about a year and a half ago, and I will never look back.

I have been a Rams fan for 20 years (wow, has it really been THAT long now? Sheesh!). Oddly enough, it was a nasty 24-0 LOSS that started it. It put the Bears into Superbowl XX. I was watching TV the evening of the Superbowl, and my dad came in and changed the channel just in time for the pregame show. Of course my sisters and I weren't happy, but then the Superbowl Shuffle began to play, and we all laughed so hard, soda began squirting out our noses. It burned like the dickens, but we actually watched the game, and I was instantly hooked. As it turns out, it wasn't just a bunch of guys beating each other up over a silly looking ball, but there was a lot of planning and stategy involved as well.

I also play the part of Maternia in the upcoming movie based on the Book of Spiralhorns. Well, there ought to be one, anyways.

Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

Hi, I'm Denise and I’ve been around here for quite some time, I stumbled upon this ClanRam site accidentally while searching for Ram news and so very happy that I did! I was born and raised a Rams fan thanks to my dad. I’ve met some of the greats as a kid when my family would go down to Disneyland and Dad would always plan our summer vacation around Ram practices down in LA. I’ve met Roman Gabriel, Merlin Olsen, Jack Snow, Deacon Jones and tons of others as a little girl.

My husband and I got to see our first Ram game in St. Louis during the first ClanRam bash. I met some awesome Rams fans from here and it was just so cool to be among Ram fans everywhere you looked. We also got to meet some Ram players and coaches as well on our trip. What a great and memorable time!!

I’m from Central Cali and only get to see the Rams when they play against the niners but what a thrill it is being in your own Ram Home!!

Everybody that knows anything about me knows for sure that I'm a diehard Ram fan. Always have been and always will be!!! :ramlogo:

Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

My name is Randy. I played football most of my life as a linebacker. I wore number 57 all the way from Pop Warner, High School, College, and Semi-Pro ball. I tried out for the Rams in 1979. Was given the number 7 (obviously, I wasn't expected to make the team). I was given an invite mostly because my Uncle, who was good friends with Ray Malavasi and showed him a film of me. The two weeks that I was there were the most exciting (and painful) of my life.

I grew up in a small town called Sutter Creek, California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I currently live in Stockton, California (Big Valley country for those that remember that TV series). I have traced my ancestors back to 1767, when my kin were brought to America as indentured slaves to work off debt owed in Ireland. I was hired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Got involved in the union. Went from shop steward, to chief steward, to Branch President, to Local Business Agent and Arbitration Advocate representing letter carriers in arbitration in all of California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Guam. Have a BS in Electronic Technology (specializing in Broadcast Engineering), and attended Law School. I have a beautiful wife Becky, and two sons, Loren and Philip, who are 20 and 15 respectively.

My passion is coaching youth football, umpiring baseball of all ages, and of course the Rams. I also ride motorcycles (I was an expert class motocross rider in my youth), and I love racing of all kinds, but mostly Nascar (Dale Earnhardt Jr), IndyCar (Danica Patrick), and Motocross/Supercross (Ricky Carmichael).

P.S. As many of you know, I also like dressing up!

I am really surprised more people didn't get involved in this thread. I guess another tradition bits the dust.

Where are memebers like GC, Utter, Ferter, Dez, Alpha, Real, Psyco, DJRamFan, r8rh8rmike, Zig, RAMMAN68, ramsbruce, Evil Disco Man, theodus69, OldRamsfan, RamsFan4ever, thoey, jkramsfan, majorram, Yodude, Bruce=GOAT, Varge, MauiRam, Rambos, rams_fan81, tanus, coy bacon, RamsFan16, OrlandoPaceIsMyHero, cowboyhater, moklerman

And this is only to name a few that I can think of (* if I missed you, step up to the plate then and yell at me).

I'm Nick. I'm 23, am a Libra, and I enjoy... oh wait, wrong site. I'm a college student here at West Virginia University, home of the SUGAR BOWL CHAMPIONS West Virginia Mountaineers. I'm studying elementary education with the intention of becoming a kindergarten or first grade teacher somewhere in state if possible. I live by myself in an apartment probably five minutes away from our two main campus locations. I've been dating a wonderful young woman for just about three years now; she's one of the two drum majors for the West Virginia University Marching Band, an award-winning group that is made up of 350+ members. I enjoy football (obviously) as well as movies (quite an extensive DVD collection), music, video games, and poker. I think that about covers it.

Alright, I'll step up too. I'm Mike and I'm from Long Beach California. I have worked in the Telecommunications Industry for the last 20 years. I've been a Ram fan for 36 years and was a season ticket holder in Anaheim. I found ClanRam while in a state of rage after the Carolina playoff loss when I was searching to find out what other Ram fans were feeling and saying. The best search I ever made. Besides watching sports, I love rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, water sports, off-roading, music, movies and oh yeah, voicing my opinion!

Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

My name is Jacob, but my family and friends, and pretty much anyone else that knows me, calls me Jake. Some in high school called me "Jack" for fun. Jack Daniel [my last name]. Get it? Ha... ha. I've been on the earth for 21 revolutions around Sol. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, where I lived for six of those revolutions. My family was growing (ended up with 5 sisters and 3 brothers) and the neighborhood we lived in was getting a little iffy, so we moved to a farmhouse 10 miles between both David City (pop. 2500) and Bellwood (pop. 450) where I survived until graduating high school. I've been in Lincoln, Nebraska, for three revolutions since, and am contemplating a move to possibly Seattle or Oregon where most of my friends have relocated, though it probably won't happen... soon, anyway. I currently work for the National Research Corporation as a Coding Specialist.

Anywhere in Nebraska is pretty much Husker Heaven, especially Lincoln. During football season you see red all over town, game day or not. I've never really been a Husker fan at all, probably because it gets so tiresome hearing about them all the time. I'm the only one in my family that knows anything about sports - other than the recent additions, my step-mom, who is a WNBA fan, and my brother-in-law, who's a Giants/Yankees/Knicks fan (grew up in Brooklyn, NY, if you can't tell).

I became a Rams fan in 5th grade (1995) when I started watching and being able to understand the concepts of football. Knowing I had to choose a team to root for and already sick of Husker fever, I wanted to go against the grain and have my own team. There were two basic factors in my decision: location and colors. I went through a few teams quickly before finding out others in my grade already liked them, but finally got hooked on the horns and those gorgeous flashy uniforms. Information was scarce at the time, but I tried to learn more and more about them every year.

I found ClanRam in 2001 while searching for Rams wallpaper on the Internet. Chatting on the net in Yahoo's NFL rooms was already an addiction of mine, so seeing that this place had a message board to join for free, I jumped at the chance. I was among the first 300 members or so.

I enjoy long walks on the beach, dancing in the rain, watching the sunset, laying out in the countryside gazing at the stars and meteors during nighttime, romantic winter dinners in front of the fireplace, snuggling, a fine wine and cheese, etc. I'm also a hardcore Tecmo Super Bowl competitor (though I don't play as often now, I still have a working original NES and 3 copies of TSB), a hemp/cannibus enthusiast, am just starting to dig into the underground movie scene (using the help of a fanatical friend with good taste) as well as documentaries, listen to mostly underground music, including some folk, rock, indie, celtic, punk, conscious rap/hip-hop, reggae, whatever my more musically talented companions are playing at the moment, some older stuff (Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Bob Marley, Simon & Garfunkel, and so on) and even a little classical here and there. Hiking, frisbee, reading and photography are a few other hobbies.

    Okay, I'm done. Next!

My name is Terry, and I am a database admin for THE phone company. Been a Rams fan since the mid 70's as we lived a couple hours from LA and got all the Rams / Dodgers / Lakers games on TV / radio. Been through a *couple* iterations of this site. Don't post much, but read here a lot.

Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

My name is Renee and yes I am female. I am an accounting manager in a publicly traded company. The company trains computer geeks and I manage the costs and the reporting for the US Operating unit. The new regulations set upon publicly traded companies have made accounting absolutely no fun and the work load increases every day. Tremendous amounts of money are being spent to keep the masses feeling secure. I hope all the investors feel secure now. Do you?

I was born in CT. My family moved to VA in the 80s. I have two brothers and one sister. We were all born within 5 years and we are very close. The family has scattered and now I have to travel to see them. My little brother is in Iraq working on helicopters and I miss him a lot. My parents travel around the country in a fifth wheel. They are gypsies or maybe I'll call them full time campers, which seems to be the correct term.

I have been playing soccer for the last four years. I like cars and motorcycles and other things that are fast and fun. I thank my brothers and my Dad for such interests. There is a lot of car and bike talk in my family. I also like flowers, art, decorating and cooking, but those are girlie things and I don’t talk much about them here.

How did I get to be a Rams fan???
    Three things….

    1. Meeting Nick Sorensen
    2. Getting knocked out of a knockout pool on Bulger’s first start
    3. Falling for the people and the intelligent conversation at the Clan.

It is a strange combination, but it did the trick.

The Nick connection continues….Nick’s sister is my real estate agent. I talked to her last year about selling my house and quitting my job to try something new. She was all for quitting, but against selling the house. She sent me a couple of books. One was called “blink” and it talks about the kind of people who can judge things in the “blink” of an eye. These people have excellent subconscious logic and will pick up minute details that others will miss. They develop a “gut” ability to make the right call quickly with limited information. I found the book interesting and I called her to tell her that I thought I had some “blink” talent, especially related to football, since I am no football expert, but I often seem to make some insightful comments which I can’t always rationalize. I gave her a brief run down of my activities here on this site and I asked her if Nick read the message boards. She said she would ask him. He has a blog going on the jaguars’ board now, so I have to conclude that he must be reading the boards and that other players probably read them too.

The second book she sent was “What color is your parachute?” I think it must be time to read that book and gather the nerve to push off and try something different or even just take off a year so that I can take some exciting basket weaving classes.

Happy now Jason?? Here is my story.

Senator Sarbanes and Representative Oxley are on your Christmas card list, right?

They would be on my hate mail list. We don't ever get caught up any more. We make up 5 big binders of signed documentation each month. There are consultants around all the time, and auditors too. They can't get enough narratives, walkthroughs and testing. The concept of materiality does not exist for SOX. The consultants and auditors are happy because the good senators have given them job security and lots of money to play with. I see very little benefit for the companies coming from SOX. So much for the cost/benefit concept.

That's the part that really sucks. Millions of dollars in man-hours can be spent finding hundreds of dollars in questions.

My name is Paul, i'm 18 and i live in Oxford, England. I found clanram because i wanted to find somewhere where i could talk to people about the rams. Because here in sunny old England there aren't that many people who watch football or "amercian football" as i have to refer to it as. I'm hoping to find a team to play for in the near future and start playing the sport for the first time, hopefully as a cornerback. I come here for all my updates on the rams, its the best damn site on the web!!!

Re: Get to know the Clansmen/women

This is some great stuff. My name is AJ, aka sprtsmac. I am a Field Service Engineer for Novellus Systems in San Jose, CA; that's right Niner country. I just turned 35, have a wife and 2 boys; with the youngest just being 3 wks old. I am already pushing the Rams on him and he seems to be doing a good job at soaking it in.

I've pretty much been a Rams fan all my life as my mom and grandfather are big time Ram fans and introduced me to them at a young age. Unfortunately my first real memory of seeing the Rams play was the Super Bowl lost to the Steelers, but I have been die hard ever since. I went and saw my first Rams game in 2004 at the Stick when they kicked the Niners butt. That was quite nice. I think I stumbled upon the Clan in 2001 as I was looking for something on the Rams and my thirst was quenched. I haven't been on the site too much the last year but I plan on changing that and being more active.

My interests include church, family, and sports. I coach little league and I love it. I have done it for the past 4 yrs and I love working with the kids. I am also on the local little league board. For fun I play in a local softball league where I try to recapture the glory of my youth.
