Has anyone eaten at the Eagle Deli in Boston?
I saw a great program on the travel channel this weekend called man vs. food. The host (adam something, a guy from brooklyn) travels around the country finding the spiciest foods and the largest portions possible.
He ate at the eagle deli in boston and tried to consume their 5 pound burger that comes with 7 pounds of fries and a large pickle. 1500 people have tried, but no one has finished it within the one hour limit. THe host ate 7 pounds but came up short.
The burger looked amazing, its 10 half pound patties.

Re: Has anyone eaten at the Eagle Deli in Boston?
There was a day that I could have eaten the burger, but not all of the fries with it.
In Amarillo, TX, they have the 72 oz steak with side stuff with the hour limit to finish it.
Why hasn't anyone opened a joint that offers a whole turkey if you eat it in an hour?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

On this week's episode Adam ate the 72 oz steak, with a salad, shrimp cocktail, roll and baked potato in 29 minutes!
He failed to eat the Carvinore, an 11 pound 30 inch pizza (6 pounds of pizza with five pounds of meat on top). That challenge required him to have a partner and the partner blew chow while eating, thus resulting in a dsq.
Great great show.

I love that show. Did you see the one where he ate the atomic wings? His face looked like it was going to explode.
Love the press conference at the end. Hilarious.

TX, you need to see the espisode where he eats the Phaal, the hottest and spiciest curry ever made. Its so hot and spicy that the guy who cooks it needs to wear a gas mask. The Pasta from Hell that he eats on halloween night in the eagle deli episode is far hotter than the wings. He eats two bites, begins sweating like he just ran a marathon, and then has to quit.
I also like the episode where he eats a donut that is so big its the size of a dozen donuts in one!!
