I hate the way they're marketing Revenge of the Sith
While I am still looking forward to seeing Revenge of the Sith, I'm getting sick of the marketing of the movie.
I mean, how can you take Darth Vader seriously as a major movie villain when we see him squaring off with the freakish masked "Burger King" and trying to weasel in on a prize in a Pepsi commercial? How can you take Yoda seriously as the Guru or all Jedi's when he's sitting at a diner counter using his powers to steal a cheeseburger? And, who's the marketing genius who came up with the "Sith Happens" commercial?
Some might say - hey, its working (the movie made a mint in its first weekend). But my response to that is - how do you know it wouldn't have done just as well with a marketing strategy that would have preserved the serious nature of the movie's plot?
I guess all I can say is this - at least there's not Ewoks.
