I'm NOT at war with Christmas!

I'm not at war with Christmas, either. I just hate what it has become. Instead of a time when families get together, spend time with loved ones, and reflect on their personal beliefs while teaching their children the meaning of the season, we now have a commercial blast happening every year.
Everyone speaks about giving. What they are really asking for is spending. Don't believe me? Go to the toy department at the local department store. You can't get anything that will last longer than two days for less than $20. You can't buy an Etch-A-Sketch. You can't find Lincoln Logs. They no longer make plain old Legos. Regular Barbie? Forget it. They have Princess Barbie, Doctor Barbie, Pregnant Barbie, Lesbian Barbie, Republican Barbie, Terrorist-Hunting Barbie, even a Mistress Barbie - but no plain, old-fashioned girl-next-door Barbie. Candyland is not a board game anymore - it is a DVD Edition game.
I don't even put up a tree until two weeks before Christmas. I'm sick of getting the "Holiday Spirit" rammed down my throat. I guess that is why I don't listen to the 'traditional' holiday songs

It makes me sick how "HOLIDAY" items are being put up in department stores even before Halloween arrives these days. Unfortunately most kids today are sucked into all this commercialism.
My nice who's 10 is asking for a mobile phone with Internet access. :tut
She's done with Barbie; and just about everything she wants is hi - end electronics.
She'll be lucky to get a lump of coal.

As for "HOLIDAY MUSIC" I still enjoy a little comedic spin on things to make it easier to get through the holidays.

My personal favorite is the Jeff Foxworthy "12 days of redneck Christmas"....followed closely by Adam Sandler's Hannakuh Song.

Sadly there are alot of people at war with Christmas,our government,the ACLU (but you dont see these guys dissing any Muslims),the PC crowd,And it is an attack on Christianity and anything afilliated with it. Jewish folks are not excluded.Look at Europe in some places today,protesting against Isreal because they defend themselves against Palestinian and Hamas attacks.I saw on the news (fox.the only news channel I watch).People demonstrating against Israel saying Hitler didnt finish the job.This was in france.Alot of the anti religeous crowd comes out of Hollywood.Attacking Mel Gibson for his Movie Passion of the Christ.They tried to use the.It will be Anti semetic,and might cause people to start persecuting Jewish people all over again.Real Christians know that Jewish people are not responsible for the Death of Jesus,He was suppose to die.Some do not remember that he rose up after 3 days,wich brings us to the war on Easter.

This is the kind of crap that pisses me off. How dare you mention the "war on Christmas" (which generally involves semantic nitpicking relating to holiday greetings) in the same context as Holocaust denials and terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.

Oh, and by the way, the reason that "The Passion" was attacked was that it did have anti-semitic undertones.
