Re: An Inconvenient Truth
Oh yes, this global warming stuff is on us, man. In fact, yesterday the high was 68, today it's supposed to be.....--gulp--....71 !!! At that rate the temperature will be 160 within a month!!! Ahh, we're doomed!!!
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
I have mixed feelings about global warming.
On the one hand, it could result in a global environmental crisis of epic proportions that would have a monumental impact on both mankind and wildlife.
On the other hand, it might make my house in Orlando beachfront property.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
The question you have to ask yourself with regard t global warming is this: Will the Edward Jones Dome be flooded as a result of global warming?

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
My personal opinion, for what little it is worth, is that global warming is cyclical.
Man probably has very little real effect on climatic changes outside all the additional body heat generated. Last time there was a cataclysmic climatical change man was not even in the picture according to some reports.
Just like sports stats, the same numbers can be used to either support or diminish both sides of an argument simultaneously.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
Sure, I suppose it's fine if you look at for what it is, a fictional movie. Because, you know, if it was a documentary you would think they would present both sides equally??? That's all I ask, it's not much if you ask me. And I have no opinion one way or the other really, I just want fairness.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
If you're going to consider the movie fictional, it should be because the facts presented in the movie are made up or imagined. Whether or not the documentary equally presents both sides of an issue has absolutely no affect on the accuracy of the material presented in said documentary; the facts are either accurate or inaccurate on their own merit. Furthermore, I know of no such requirement that a documentary film present both sides of an issue equally. If you want that, that's fine. But to discredit the accuracy of the documentary because it doesn't provide that makes no sense to me.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
I think this thread, and the "documentary" ( I use the term loosely) pretty much borders on politics and one's (dare I say?) view may depend on one's political bent or the ability to believe a politician can have a motive not unto said politician's political aspirations.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth
I believe that anything Al Gore says is usually fictional...but that's just my opinion...
