June 6th, 1944

D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. 63 years ago today, remains the largest seaborne invasion in history.
I for one will likely commemorate by watching Saving Private Ryan.

The significance of this day in history is not to be minimized. This invasion represented the turning point in world war 2. If this invasion was not successful, there is a real possibility that the germans would have emerged victorious in the european war, given the reluctance that roosevelt would have had to using the atomic bomb on germany. Many, many people died to preserve the freedoms that we hold so dear and we should never forget it.

God bless them all. This day should never be forgotten, in fact, none of the soldiers who have ever died. This day holds significance because if it hadn't been for those brave souls, the war might have been lost. Hitler might have won WWll, and the world would have been changed for the worse. I can't express my gratefulness in words for these men. God bless them.
