Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...

    Whatever.

Some people need to lighten up a bit. This thread was obviously supposed to be light and satirical.

Those who are unable to take it as intended merely prove the underlying point of the satire.

Ferter, I think we're mixing up a few groups here. I don't think AV ever intended this thread to personify a fan that seeks out areas of improvements. Instead, this thread is pointed at fans who absolutely refuse to see the improvements that have been made. There is a difference. I'd say most of us fall into the former group, which is good, because that is where discussion is found and fostered. However, in the latter group there is no discussion, only doom and gloom, because even in a win, the win was not "legitimate", but fallible because it wasn't "enough" of a win.

It's the latter that IMHO AV is painting as the naysayers, not the former.
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

    Hub,
take AV's advice and give it a rest, or lighten up. The robe of self-righteous indignation, and helm of scrupulous corrector do not fit you. Try on the girdle of anal-retention instead. Just put a sock in it.

    Hub,
And if you're going to take unjustified shots at your fellow clan members, do it with some flair, like Av. I may disagree with him sometimes, but I enjoy his work. Please stop this nagging-lecturing, (I'm right, you're wrong). It pulls us all down.

Alright......enough everyone. What started out to be a satirical funny thread has turned into a thread on how to behave.

    Quit it. Cool? Cool!

Actually, the fact that HU had to explain the satire only enhances the irony of this thread!

In any event, to get this back on track, here's a picture of everyone's least favorite members of the SuperFriends, Zack, Janna and Gleek!

IMO, coy is light, for he showing the way, and you are fluffy, because all this satire and irony are fluff surrounding a real topic.

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...

Tx is right, and so is the Blitz,
we're tied up in knots, we're havin the fits!
So I'll sit here, and be a good fellow,
    And dreamily think of ...? ... Mellow Yellow. ... ... ...

"Why can't we all just get along!?"
Behave I will, and sing my song.
"What the Clan needs now is love sweet love"
There's no need to push and shove.

Some have laughed, some do cry,
While I listen to Norman's Spirit in the
And I'll lay down, lay down, let it all down,
and let the white birds smile up, at the ones who stand and frown. ... ... ...

As I drift back, I do remember,
    that fateful day in September.
When Peleus' son, did fall out,
With Atreus' son, who had the clout.

But not so here, together we stand,
Clan we are, we conquer the land.
The Achaeans and Myrmidons did join in the end,
the great city fell, and flesh they did rend. ... ... ...

    "Another Autumn day has arrived,
a new destiny will soon unfold."
    Urbanos and the Deathwarriors,
    weld the steel that's cold.

Now awake I wait with baited breath,
Hoping to read, before my death,
Words of wit, from our Batsman supreme,
Shakespearian prose, that's sharp and clean. (Hit for a century will you)

So, is that what happened to Aeneas Williams (I guess he's off on his adventures and will eventually establish the city that will one day be Rome).

But Ferter, you seem to be trying to think logically through AV's "satire" and my sarcasm. But, nice response all in all. You see it too, huh?
