Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
You are right about that anyone that has ever had a doubt in life can be called a naysayer. Also an optimist that refuses to see things for what they are is also a Naysayer. I am glad everyone here is a Naysayer then at least its interesting.

Why must it go back to light-hearted humor when the keyboard flex-off was starting to get good? Oh well, have your fun.

Then on the other hand, a couple of guys that seem to identify with the classification brought into question by the first party.
Three questions: First, why does the first party (the comic and his straight man) feel a need to discuss any group within Ram fandom, be the group positive, negative or anywhere in between? I mean there's going to be all kinds of subcultures within a community like this, isn't there?
Second, if the second party considers themselves realists instead of naysayers (which is a strange saying since I don't know of anyone outside of a Shakespeare play that actually uses the word "nay"), why do they feel a need to become offended by a classification of naysayers. If they don't see themselves that way, why would they care?
Third, is it more likely that people don't understand humor, or just not willing to see humor?"I'm not going to hide my opinions. They're coming to you between 7000-4000 Angstroms for all the world to see. Oh yes, you will be enlightened."

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
Well, I guess the secret is out. You see when I was younger, my family was part of a circus and we were the trapeze act. Then in a terrible accident, my entire family was lost and I was left orphaned and alone. Until, a billionaire employment attorney took me in and made me his ward. Little did I know at the time, but he was actually a caped crime fighter. After a while, I became his youthful sidekick and trusted pupil.By the way what is it with your little buddy Hub is there something we should know. Ever time someone is talking to you he jumps in is he your Robin.
Either that, or we happen to agree on certain topics. One or the other, whichever story you prefer."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

This thread has reached levels of surreality I never thought possible.

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
My belief is there are two people that should spend more time talking and debating football issues. Instead of trying to come up with a thread like this were the sole intent is to use what other ClanRam members have said in the past and then make it into a satire.
He does this for the sake of trying to quite them from bringing up issues. Which is what he is doing by trying to poke fun at others. This is a great website I just think its always better when everyone here contributes and you don’t have a loud mouth trying to call something satire so he can try to quite the ones he disagrees with. If it was truly satire was there anything in there about the poster. I think not.

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
Your characterization of HU is amusing. Truth is, I'm 5'7 and about 165, while HU, if his pictures do him justice, looks like he could break me in half like a twig.
I suppose a better description would be that HU is acting as my bodyguard, but that just misses the point.
You see, HU is an open-minded, intelligent, thoughtful, reasonable and rational Ram fan, who also has a good sense of humor.
Which is why he often agrees with the things I post.
By the way, be sure to pick up STLRAMSFAN's new best seller:
Naysayer Relativism (I'm not one, and neither are you!)
Available now in paperback, wherever fine books and pornography is sold.

I have stated my opinion about this thread. I am moving on to talking football and tomorrow’s game.

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
Roy, since I believe I know where I fit in your portrait
I will attempt to relate my declarative and much less humorous viewpoint......AV started this thread as a satirical (sounds like a dirty word at this point, doesn't it?) look at some fans, who for reasons known only to them ALWAYS find something negative about the Rams, kind of a Kevin Slaten-type fan. It's not that these fans look for areas of improvements per se, but just basically dog EVERYTHING done by the Rams.....nothing is ever good enough. What AV or myself didn't do is intend to single out any one poster as being part of this group.the other more declarative and much less humorous
Now, the 2nd party, as you put it, decided to champion the cause. Whether they identify with the group as depicted by AV or not, you'll have to ask them.
My personal opinion is that this whole thread has turned into one of the all-time biggest miscommunications on record here at the Clan. But Roy, you will have to decide for yourself."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
This may very well be the funniest line in the whole thread if, as I am presuming, you are referring to HU and I.

Kevin - Devil
Slaten - Satan
That can't be a coincidence.

Re: Meanwhile, at the Hall of Naysayers...
I'll second that. HUb is one of the really good guys. And on that note, I think I'll try to gravitate away from this thread as all the twisting and turning has me worried about a neck injury!
