if your wife will go and get beer for you, then the NFL package is the way to go,if she won't then going to the bar and having some blonde bimbo in a cut off Rams jersey get you beer would be the way to go.

having said that if you can't be at the game there is nothing better than sitting in the comfort of your own home and watching a Rams game.

    Re: nfl ticket

Its really this simple for me. Direct TV has terrible customer service, is expensive and generally unresponsive. They are the largest single customer market cap company in the country.

That being said, if you want to see the rams and you dont live in st louis, you dont have a choice. Its a monopoly. If direct tv lost the exclusive nfl rights, i believe the company would go out of business or be taken over after a total collapse in its value.

The NFL Ticket has completely changed the football season for anyone that is a fan of an out of town team. I couldnt live without it because its the only way that i can see the Rams in atlanta.

    Re: nfl ticket

I purchased it like 7 years ago for several seasons due to the fact I didn't always want to watch the game that was on before or after the Rams. You get to watch ALOT of football games and if your an out of town fan of the Rams it is your only option. I dropped it after several season due to the rising cost, but for what you can spend at the bar in a couple of (good) weekends and on cab fare home it will pay for itself pretty quick.

    Re: nfl ticket

I caught direct tv off last year and I tried to watch some of the games on the internet. That got cut off pretty quickly last year. Watching the play by play analysis as the game is happening is not that great. Chat rooms don't give you enough info. You just get people's reactions to the plays for the most part. Watching games in bars is only good if you are watching a fan favorite. The Rams are not one of those teams right now.

I am signing up for direct tv again this week. I missed most the pre-season and I don't even get the NFL network on my basic cable package. I have not been thinking much about football without the access to it. The season is starting and I need to catch up.

Love ours. We recently got free *Super Fan*, and a hd Receiver for free. If you are a long time customer, I highly suggest calling and asking what you can get for free.

NFL ticket is awesome and is definitely cheaper than a huge bar day (at least in my case). If you wait till the season starts some times you can get the ticket for half price or even free if you sign up for premium service. No i'm not a direct-tv guy....

    Cheers!

    Re: nfl ticket

I got in 99 when I bought my house and I love it. I haven't had too many problems with them, but I had terrible cable service before that so there was a low bar to pass. I also have the super fan, but don't use too much of it except for the HD. I really couldn't live without it. I have the big screen and the surround sound and it is almost like I do have season tickets!! My only beef is with the NFL and how they think that my area is the secondary market for San Diego and the Faiders and if they don't sell out they'll blackout those games...but I'll be writing that letter later tonight!

    Re: nfl ticket

Superfan is WELL worth the extra $99 because without it, you dont get the games in HD. In addition to the HD component, you get the red zone channel and some other goodies, but the real key is the HD coverage, which is night and day from the regular broadcast in terms of clarity of the picture.
