Ps3
Anyone getting the new PS# system this month?? Going price on E-bay is running $1200 to $1400. It sounds like even the price tag without the craze inflation is going to be $850.00. That sounds a little ridicules to me.
Nintendo's WI system also looks a little intriguing, with a better price tag.

Re: Ps3
I heard the PS3 was 600.00, I need 100.00 if I wanted to buy it, but that's just a huge waste of money, the WII on the other hand looks like a very good system, you can use a remote or controller, i would rather the WII than PS3, I'm not a big Play station fan, IMO there is no great games for it, I'm more of an XBOX guy.
Built RAM tough

We won't be able to get either till like March...they all told me they weren't taking reserves, and then they stab me in the back...and take reserves. So now I can't get any of them for a long time...*******s from EBGames!!!

Re: Ps3
It's gonna be $600 dollars. I want it because I'm a Sony freak. I'm going to wait awhile for two reasons. 1) to let the price drop 2) they are using the new blue ray technology. So i'll let them fix the first and second generation problems before I buy mine.

Re: Ps3
Here in Hong Kong it's out tomorrow for about $4'000HKD, which is around $500USD. Little price inflation and e-baying here, because the locals just won't pay it and because every shop in town will have them.
They'll be sold out all over town about 3 minutes after they go on sale though.........

I avoid those types of gaming systems for the same reason an alcoholic doesn't have a casual drink every now and again.

Re: Ps3
I'll wait until next year when there will be enough decent games to invest in the system. Just bought the Xbox 360 though for my youngest son. He had a PS2 but not Xbox, and since Xbox 360 plays both the new and old games (with patch), it was worth it. Don't know if PS3 plays the PS2 games. I play games mostly on my PC.

Re: Ps3
PS3 does play all previous PS games. It will be a great product once they have all the major bugs worked out. Here's a few bugs reported so far:
"TOKYO — Sony Corp. (SNE) said on Tuesday its new video game console, the PlayStation 3, does not run about 200 PlayStation and PlayStation 2 software titles properly, the latest problem the electronics maker has run into in its cash-cow game business.
The PS3, which Sony calls its most important strategic product of the year, went on sale in Japan on Saturday, setting the stage for a three-way showdown with Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) already available Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s Wii.
Sony said audio features do not work on some software titles when played on the PS3, which is supposed to be compatible with games designed for its previous models, while some other titles do not work on the latest machine at all."
What games do you play? Any online games?

Re: Ps3
As stated earlier, I believe buying a PS3 right now would be a mistake because of bugs. There have already been mass reports of systems overheating and such. I plan on buying mine sometime next summer, when they have had a chance to work out all the problems.
