Question about broken bone?
Today I kicked the ground by accident, after trying to chip a soccer ball. I wasn't in shoes because I was in the house.
I heard a loud snap and my toe started to bleed for about an hour and a half.
I'm positive it's broken because I can't stand on it.
How long do you think it'll take to heal? (It's about in the middle of my big toe, the bone is.)
About 3 years ago I snapped four bones in my foot at the same time and it took a while to heal so I don't know how long it'll take for one bone, also this was one of the bones broken 3 years ago, I'm pretty sure.Last edited by Milan; -04-04-2006 at 09:52 PM.

Re: Question about broken bone?
You must have a big empty house to be kicking a soccer ball around inside.
I have never broke a bone, but it is certainly not because I have played it safe. Maybe I drank enough milk and my bones are hard.
Hope it heals up quickly Milan. It sounds painful and gross.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Question about broken bone?
not empty at all, in the room I was kicking it in, there is a drum set, a TV, a bass, a guitar, 3 chairs, a computer and an air hockey table.

6 weeks I believe, you should probally get it checked out. I have only broken one bone so far(it was part of my skull), but have had many other injuries.

Re: Question about broken bone?
It sounds like you would be knocking things over in that room.....are you afraid to play outside where there is nice soft grass and less things to break?

Re: Question about broken bone?
Thanks, and good news for me, I can move it now, it still bleeds when I walk on it too much, so it might be sprained but still hurts the same from the bottom.

Re: Question about broken bone?
I've unfortunately bust my myself up pretty good over the years and I can include a toe in that list of pain.
Couple of weeks and it'll be a bit sore to the touch but you just have to let it heal. Doc's normally don't do anything with toes, they just laugh at you and tell you you're going to have ugly feet......................

Re: Question about broken bone?
In all honesty...
You should probably go and ask a doctor instead of getting medical advise from a bunch of rabid Ram fans.
On the flip side...Speaking from experience...there are a couple of different bones in your toes and most people are right that they must heal on its own. But, depending on how the bone is laying and to what degree and which of the bones are broke will depend on the healing time. You should also get it checked, because in some instances (experience) it will require surgery either to reset the fracture or remove the bone completely. (there are a couple of bones that are not required LOL). Either way, you want it to heal properly and get real medical advise or you might have more trouble with it in the long wrong.

Re: Question about broken bone?
Yeah, it hurt bad when it happened, but the rehab was pretty bad. But I did like the machine that electrocutes your knees. It was really cool though how when I fell back my knees, my legs snapped back into a normal position. I told her about this and said if that didn't happen I could have torn a ligament. I think it was one of those "animal instinct" type things.
